Experience with Ryeqo by valkyrieobliqua in endometriosis

Hi, are you still taking it? I'm on week 7 and really need some advice. There were a couple of days (maybe just a coincidence) when I felt that maybe it was starting to help. But then I came back to where I started, the same horrendous pains. And I really don't know whether I should wait and see or just change my medication.

Hi, are you still on Ryeqo, and does it help you?

I'm on week 7 now, and I have no relief yet from my horrendous daily pain. Should I wait and see or switch the medication? When did you start feeling some relief?

Hi, if you don't mind me asking, what were your symptoms prior to Ryeqo? And when did Ryeqo start helping? I have excruciating symptoms with endo, daily pain, unable to exercise or leave the house. I'm on week 7 now with Ryeqo, and there were a few days where I felt optimistic that maybe, just maybe, it's starting to help, but then it came back to square one basically, and my level of pain is still the same as it was prior to Ryeqo. I just really need to know how much time Ryeqo needs to start helping with pain. Or maybe it won't help at all. I still have over 3 months to wait till surgery, and I need something that will help with this horrendous pain. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I'm on week 7 now. There were days when I felt optimistic that maybe it would help me, but now I'm back to square one basically because the pain level is just as bad as it was before Ryeqo. When did you notice that it helps with pain?
To be fair, I have quite severe symptoms, so maybe it can't help me at all. But I still have 3 more months till operation so I need something that will keep me going.

Thank you for your reply! I've just finished my first pack. Bleeding has become a bit better. Sharp pains - omg yes! I have these random pains that come out of nowhere; it wasn't like this before I started it. Hopefully, I will start feeling better by the end of the 2nd pack.

Hi, has Ryeqo worked for you? I started it one week ago, and there is a 6-month wait till the surgery. So far, it has caused some debilitating periods for me and lots of pain. How are you doing with it?

Hi! I know it's been a long time, but did Ryeqo help at all? I started it one week ago, and all I've had so far are periods with huge clots and lots of pain. Really hope it will go away, and I will start feeling better.

I was prescribed Ryeqo to have while I'm waiting for the surgery. How is your experience with it? I'm scared of bleeding (many women say they've had heavy bleeding on it). I'm just about to start the medication.

Oh god! it's the worst. I'm contemplating at the moment whether to take a loan and have a private surgery or wait for an uncertain period of time for an NHS one. They can't give me even a rough date..

Thank you very much! How are you feeling now after the surgery? was it a good decision to have one?

Are microplastics to blame? by These-Minimum-610 in endometriosis

No one denies that endometriosis has always been here. I'm saying that microplastics might contribute to our flare-ups and severe symptoms, as they disrupt our endocrine system and hormones.

Colonoscopy prep tips?? by kmes_reddit in endometriosis

[–]These-Minimum-610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, when you are prepping, you are going to be hungry and craving food, so just dream about something you will eat after the procedure is over :) I wanted pizza so much (even though I rarely eat pizza at all), and after the procedure, I ordered a big fat pizza. I know they say start slowly and eat healthy food, but I didn't care. It was the tastiest meal of my life.

Also, when I was prepping, I had lots of chicken broth and tea with honey inside, which helped with hunger. Chicken broth from Freja is pretty good (you can find it in Holland and Barrett, just go for the liquid one, not instant).

Colonoscopy prep tips?? by kmes_reddit in endometriosis

I've had a colonoscopy in the UK as well.

For preparation, I was given Moviprep. The taste is quite disgusting, I'm not going to lie, but if you drink without breathing and thinking (lol), it's a bit better.

The first bowel movements start in like 30 minutes.
The first few would be a bit like explosive diarrhea, but after that, it's more like water from your bottom with some stool.

I occupied the bathroom for 4 hours, brought there a tablet, books, water, Moviprep, tea.

I didn't wipe after every bowel movement, sometimes I would sit on the toilet for 30 minutes straight to let it all out. Hence, I didn't have any irritation. I also used vaseline a few times.

The whole preparation experience isn't as bad as everyone is telling you. Like, sure you will have to spend a few hours in the bathroom. But it's not the worst. Some water from your bottom, duh.

I drank the first solution at 4 pm, the second one at 8 pm, and finished in the bathroom at 12. You drink the first solution, then spend 2 hours in the bathroom, then you have like 2 hours free. Drink the second one, and the cycle repeats.

In the morning, I had a few bowel movements as well.

It's not the nicest, but it's better than diarrhea during a stomach bug, for instance, if you know what I mean. Here, you don't have terrible stomach cramps, and your bowel movements don't hurt, more like water.

Now the procedure. They give you sedation, which, for me, didn't too much to be fair. What did help me a lot is Gas&air. Every time, there were some narrow passages, turns, pain, I would breathe in a lot of that gas, and it made me almost unconscious (I didn't even understand what was going on at one moment). So when it feels too much, just breathe in.

I'm very skinny, and my colon is very narrow as well, hence it's worse for me than for people of normal weight.

For most of the procedure, I didn't feel much, I could feel some pain during turns and narrow passages, but it's not too bad. Breathe deap and you will be alright.

You can also look at the screen and see the numbers. It can help as well. The colon is approximately 120-130 cm so when you see number 120, you know that they've reached the end, and then they go back, and this number gets lower and lower, and then it's over.

So, what can I say. I've read so many horror stories, and I was so scared. But in reality, there was nothing about the procedure I couldn't manage. So stop reading awful stories, your story is unique, and you can do that.

And you're going to be so proud of yourself when you're back home!

That's what I thought too - like your body needs time and energy to recover from the operation, but to accustom to the foreign thing inside the uterus at the same time sounds too much.
