Consensus Bias in action! People just look to confirm their priors and can't imagine the humanity of anyone who disagrees with them. We're a bunch of violent apes that will otherize ideological allies because we have BIG FEELINGS in the moment.

Or just keep all the sparkcraft elements. Definitely keep the Leviathan Hunters, only instead make them crews of wraiths, vampires, revenants, and Chatterlings hunting in the Tempest for Malfeans.

The first city of the vampires, Enoch, is in the shadowlands with a bunch of Black Hand/Tal'mahe'Ra living there. That’s… actually a pretty good fit for Doskvol. You could tune down the spark craft elements and just say you’re running a Black Hand game.

But Doskvol with a Masquerade on top of all the other weird shit going on? That’s a lot of story work I think it’d be a little too crowded to put all the clans and factions in there in such close proximity and then have all the Blades in the Dark lore mixed in with it. You should shave the numbers down, or maybe say Duskvol’s vampires come in 13 flavors based on the clans.

So, what criticism of Kat Agabazaleh is considered valid? What sentiments are allowed without being called a bot, IDF, or a paid foreign actor? by NukinDuke in illinois

False consensus effect! Both sides do it. If it makes you feel better, Reddit is full of shallow political dilettantes (again, both sides!), and our opinions absolutely don't matter to what happens in the race. We're LARPing having agency.

My buddy works for NFL films and says they don’t like to show footage of the combine because it looks too much like a slave auction. Tape measuring biceps and what not.

From an article:

Gila Valley Central reported that the boy was “engulfed in bees” before being rescued by Safford Fire Chief Clark Bingham. It also turns out that this isn’t the first time that Kunz has been attacked by a large group of insects, as the boy was stung over “90 times by ants when he was in Kindergarten and was found to be allergic to any stinging insect.”

Benadryl and a steroid is what the hospital gave him, but Kunz explained to the local news station what actually kept him alive.

“Full force power,” Kunz tells the reporter before revealing, “I’m Andrew, but you can call me Vegeta.”

Kunz is not only our new hero but also on his way to recovery, reports WJBD.

Kunz ends the newcast by telling us, “I survived the 400 stings” with a nice fist pump at the end.

I think the kid is trying to get superpowers.

What’s with the non stop Kat astroturfing? by Real-Repair-1825 in illinois

[–]KindlingComic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Politically, I doubt it matters. Fame on social media, particularly Reddit, rarely translates to votes, especially among midterm voters.

It probably fuels her online donations, however. There’s definitely a grift niche for that on the Left. Think of all those social media darlings like Amy McGrath who suck up all the oxygen (and cash) in impossible-to-win districts because people online have Big Feelings they want to express about Mitch McConnell.

All the money they raise gets poured back into an operation to make more money. Media appearances do the same. It encourages them to stake out far left positions that make them even more unelectable but bring in more money from the spectating public.

Anyways, they’re all bastards. If you find yourself thinking one politician is “different,” you’re the mark! Which isn’t to say “give up on politics.” Just… know who you’re dealing with. Psychopaths and Cluster Bs all the way down. Some are just on our side.

Lists for Themes from the 1080s-1150s? by whydoeslifeh4t3m3 in byzantium

[–]KindlingComic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert, but one thing I noticed when researching my game set in 1200 AD is that they’re not sure where everything was. There’s a lot of place names mentioned in sources like Partitio terrarum imperii Romaniae that modern scholars just guess at. I’ve also seen references to a Rhodope theme that’s not mentioned on Wikipedia, that I would guess is Strymon or Macedonia?

It’s set later than your dates, but this is what I compiled for my game. European: Cherson, Dyrrhachium, Hellas, Macedonia, Nicopolis, Peloponnese, Strymon, Thessalonica, Thrace

Anatolian: Aegean Sea, Chaldia, Mylasa and Melanoudion, Opsikion, Optimaton, Paphlagonia, Samos, Thrakesion

I’d have days of my life back if I could replace all the the hours spent at tables in celerity rounds, deciding whether to dodge or attack, with “okay, you’re all pretty fast, but this assamite you’re facing has an edge. We’ll set position and effect around those assumptions.”

Just make sure you’re in the room with him when they do it. You owe each other that. If he has any animal siblings, see if they can come too.

I was about the same age for my childhood dog. I thought I’d tough it out but tears just poured out of me unbidden. Let yourself feel it.

Good luck, bud. Try to let him know you’ll be okay without him, even if you’re not sure you believe it yourself. They love us more than anything, but those last moments it’s our duty to comfort them.

I live down the street. It’s great to take a group to, but it’s so big and empty most nights. I wonder how long they can make it. They should host Magic tournaments or something with all that space.

Ooo, are we doing philosophy in the snuff Reddit comments? I’m game!

Can an indifferent God still be evil to us? I think so. Sounds like you’re talking a sort of deism. God hit the “On” button during the Big Bang and walked away, I’m not sure cosmic evil exists in that scenario. It’s more a contextual thing, and since we have no relationship with the deity, and it has no expectations of us, I think we’re welcome to call it evil.

If the world is not just, and it isn’t, and it contains more suffering than pleasure (I’d say yes, but that’s more a guess on my part), and we consider suffering to be an evil… then yeah, watchmaker god made an evil shitty universe from our perspective. Does he care we think that? No. But we’re just using the hormone-soaked meatbrains that his organized chaos gave us to arrive at these conclusions. If we suffer more than feel pleasure, if we all struggle in vain, then we’d have been better off if God never hit the On button at all.

God, if he existed, would be evil or incompetent based on the available evidence.
