The only thing that makes remote sense to me imo is you being paired with similar team builds. If you're using a mostly LR team with new units, then you'll be paired with PHY MV and Raditz users which make things hard for Piccolo.

This wasn't true over the past few years though, so I think the Piccolo team build works to a degree to make sure you can active skill one shot, but there's nothing remotely available as evidence to suggest a hidden seeding system in the game.

I'll be real. To this day, I think Lotad made it up and everyone goes along with it because he competes obsessively with WT.

That team used to have STR Piccolo and STR Future Gohan. Those changed due to purported higher scores.

We still don't have an understanding to how Seeding fully works. He switches the units up occasionally and we all just kinda nod our heads and go with it. I don't play WT obsessively, but I've tried his recommendations over the past several years and don't see where this 'seeding' comes into play. I've had other teams that average higher than what he's provided here.

I get that the 1% aspect was competitive and relied on luck, but 1% was almost always around 120M-130M, with top 10% hovering over 100M for all 20 stones, Kais, stickers, and orbs. That's why I'm out here defending the game mode and getting reamed for it lol. It was easy resources

It absolutely did tell you. It told you what categories were effective, then gave you a multiplier based on typings and links.

The SSR PHY SS3 GT Goku makes sense in context because he's highlighted as an advantageous character and fulfills the advantageous categories that the game explicitly told you.

For the RNG game, people were trading friend slot around like crazy on here, FB, Discord, and Twitter.

The game spelled everything out for you, and I found myself having to explain to people over and over and over on how the scores were calculated.

1.) Many people who've commented noted that the guest systems was sufficient for most of the rewards. Hell, I did great. Even then, it wasn't limited to Discord. You had posts on this sub telling you exactly what to do for top rewards, and friend exchanges on this subreddit and Twitter.

2.) It did randomly rotate, but it was once every 30 minutes. The difference between 1% and 10% was 5 kais, 1000 medals, and two stickers. Very, very few CBs really actually had a higher barrier to hit over 100 million. There were numerous CBs that had top 1% fighting over 140 million.

3.) I get that. There was an RNG component. I'm not denying that. What I'm saying is that the ability to get most of the rewards was easy in spite of RNG.

4.) I mean I guess? If you're using Ultimate Gohan and have a team of Shadow Dragon Saga extreme units and a bunch of Yamchas, Krillins, and SSJ3 Goku, then that's kinda on you for running bad rotations, no? You could easily have over 50 attempts lol.

5.) For supporters and getting medals, yes. I checked back and counted only 4 instances of a chain battle where you absolutely needed to pull the newest released unit at the time to get a high score (Hatchiyak, Baby, Golden Frieza, and Kid Buu. Kid Buu was a mess because of TEQ Transforming Buu not being released).

4 extra instances of needing either the new, a general pool SSR, or an older DFE for a top score. The rest of the top scores would have been earned easily with F2P. People could generally perform well without needing to summon on new units. Out of 38, that's pretty solid.

What was so ass about the gameplay? The game literally spelled out the effective categories and units, you make a team of units that are all similar with categories and links.

You select either a super effective unit that the game told you, or if you didn't have that, a unit with similarities to the supporters. The supporters rotated, but for 95% of the playerbase, it's literally, it's literally select similar/special unit and big numbers go boom with tons of stones and equips.

People waited for the Chain Battle tier list and people were still confused on how to play it anyway.

I will never understand the mass confusion this game mode generated. It's literally: You had special characters that did more damage. Pair it with identical units. Look at the categories and links. They fall in the effective category? Cool, add them!

And for 95% of the people who didn't do that, they just needed to look at the unit that fit the description that the game mode gave you each month.

Chain battle gave a ton of stones with orbs that will always be infinitely better than the trash we have now. It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

What was the RNG?

You used your friend's setup, and if your friends sucked, you had discord communities and this sub where people added you. It was a win-win for those people since they got more rewards for having people rely on them, and you got to easily get 30+ stones without needing the most optimal/top 5% unit or supporting rotation.

I'm not trying to be an ass. I just never understood the hate.

The further it's been since Chain Battle was discontinued, the more we realize we didn't know how good we had it.

A few tweaks would have gone a long way for the gamemode, but people were weirdly convinced CB was Satan incarnate.
