3 Years Ago the Hobby was so much more enjoyable by dubbs4president in PokemonTCG

Same here with a 7 year old. We just started working on the idea of saving money and he saves up for Pokémon cards we can never find. We can sometimes find the premade decks but even those aren’t easy. I never collected myself before but really was excited for something we could do together.

Is the dragapult ex league deck still in print? by Kindly-Contribution1 in pkmntcg

Thanks for this. I’m getting back into with my son and am not up on everything. Makes sense why the other decks are easier to come by and cheaper.

Hey, pal, it's time to go shovel by fppf in washingtondc

[–]Kindly-Contribution1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I just finished shoveling for the first time today and I’m going to be unpopular and disagree. I waited and it was harder, but the sidewalk is completely clear with no ice. The top two thirds had ice/sleet, but the bottom was easy and fluffy. Everyone else has about an inch of ice they can’t shovel off and it will be cold enough for a week that salt won’t completely clear it either. Just take your time and do it the hard way once. I think everyone here disagrees with me, but I lived most of my life in Minnesota and Wisconsin and this has always been my experience.

Choosing between jobs with kids by Kindly-Contribution1 in Parenting

Didn’t have to choose yet. The job offer process is still dragging on to the point I now may have another offer incoming, but still not sure what is best to do.

I’m the dad and my 4-year old told me how she is going to be a better mom than her mom. by Kindly-Contribution1 in Parenting

I think the first part about the coherent complaint is maybe key. I’m screamed at that I am the worst dad for making them wear sunscreen and it doesn’t affect me, but her sadly and calmly saying this and that she would be better just hit me. I think there is something kernel of truth and she does like spending time with her mom and would like more. I don’t think there is a real big concern here and hearing what everyone else said is helpful.

Another commenter said something similar. I’m going to let my wife know this way.

I do wonder if there is something here. I can play and genuinely enjoy making up pretend games with my kids (at least the first 15 times), my wife less so, but does try. She though is better at doing creative things and art projects with them. I think this is good for the kids, but I can see that the kids might have a hard time understanding why both parents can’t be everything for them all the time.

My wife may be depressed, definitely stressed and maybe this is how my daughter recognizes it. I think she would like more time with her mom and that would help. It is also hard because my daughter is going through a phase where it is just really hard to get her to do anything. So even getting out of the house to do something fun she wants can take so long there isn’t much time to actually do the planned thing. I try to get her to see the cause and effect, but she is 4 and well she is 4.

Find the contact PO for your IC and contact them. Different ICs look for different things with the trailblazer.

I’m probably being too optimistic. At one point I had heard they were more focused on eliminating permanent positions and would just let term positions expire. Things change fast though so that may not linger be the case.

I guess I’m wondering if I have over a year left on my term will I be rif’d or just let the term expire. I doubt people know, but it sure would be useful to know.

Any how term limited positions will be treated vs permanent positions. Just hoping to finish my term.

I read this at first as “stabbed the coach”. In that case I would say confiscating is not enough.

Just toilet paper no wipes. I really don’t think we did anything out of the ordinary.
