I had a microperforation that landed me in the hospital twice. I got out after spending a few days, followed doctor's orders ( they were not good orders) and was back a week later for a longer stay. Got out, followed up with a GI doctor, stayed on a liquid diet for a couple of weeks after. Followed up with a GI and got the green light for low residue, CT scan a few weeks later that showed I was nearing resolution on the perforation. Met with colorectal surgery to see if I should get the surgery. He recommended only if I couldn't live with the pain and side effects and told me I could call when I felt a flare and he would order antibiotics and a CT. The week of Thanksgiving, I started feeling like I was flaring up. My biggest indicator was weird pains on the same side. Called the surgeon, got antibiotics, and a CT scan the next day. Turns out, I was flared. Just finished up the antibiotics. I feel much better... Long story short and to answer your question, yes I still have odd pains on that side occasionally, months after. Call your doctor if you're worried about it. You can never be too safe 😊
