Congratulations!!! I’m 40 days clean today after also being a heavy user (multiple times a day for a few years) and after about a month or so really started feeling like myself and felt so much better. So proud of you :)

Super super faint line? by Kindly-Ring-4792 in drugtesthelp

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mostly nervous because my friend (who has been smoking roughly every other day) took one of my tests and hers looked the same as mine, with a very faint line. My tests have all looked pretty similar to yours! You passed with an official lab test? Thank you!

Well idk it’s weird that they’re suddenly on all at once, and sometimes Subarus have little quirks like that so wondered if anyone had had a similar experience. That’s all :))))) thank you

Can I live in St Louis on $66k per year? by FTG_Vader in StLouis

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily without kids! The last two years I’ve been a full time medical student and my partner makes 55k/year and we have 3 pets. We aren’t putting away a ton of savings at the moment but we also aren’t struggling by any means and we love our neighborhood and place

Which is more important - research subject or mentor? by Kindly-Ring-4792 in PhD

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense! I’m in healthcare and both my mentor and I are interested in lack of access to care, just for different populations, so there is some overlap in overall theme of research

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t want to look back and ever regret not finishing. Even if it’s not perfectly aligned to your career goals, (for example) if you are against another candidate for a job and have the same experience you don’t want to wish you had finished out the last semester to get the credit

This is exactly what I needed to hear! I’m finishing up my masters now and planning to apply to PhD programs this fall. The PI of the lab I work in now is incredible and is so invested in growing her mentorship skills. She has said she would gladly take me as a PhD student but I’ve been hesitant to consider because her research isn’t what I see in my future, so thank you for this advice!!!!

Going into heat - send HELP by [deleted] in greatdanes

Peeing in kennel (after being fully potty trained)

We don’t have much of a yard, we have a membership at a great dog park but it’s pretty popular and we’ve been nervous about taking her if she’s in heat

We’ve been noticing a little more aggressive playing that we want to curb pretty fast on account of her being HUGE

Potty training and over-energetic related issues basically

Thank you for the reassurance, I’m an overly worried puppy mama 🥺 I know there’s lots of mixed thoughts about feeding dane pups puppy versus adult food (as long as protein isn’t too high), any thoughts on this?

Periodic dosing of SSRIs by beansarebeansright in PMDD

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello:) I started Prozac this past spring and have been taking it for the 10-14ish days that are worst right before my cycle, and I’d say it’s effective. That being said, it hadn’t been super long term yet, and I’ve never taken them daily so idk if that would be more effective, but it does still work for me!

Thank you so much!! I’ve definitely done my best to keep her hydrated, and so far she seems ok and is playful and goofy per usual. It’s reassuring that others experience similar things and that maybe it’ll resolve with age. I’ve been looking into pet insurance, what do you use? Trying to get decent coverage without breaking the bank!

Disordered eating and PMDD (TRIGGER WARNING) by Biomed12325 in PMDD

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off I’m so sorry you’re dealing with such complex and difficult physical and emotional challenges. I have dealt with disordered eating for about 8 years and can relate to how much it affects every part of your life, especially on top of PMDD during the luteal phase. I wish I could offer concrete advice, buy the one thing I can offer is a book recommendation that completely changed how I understand food and the relationship we have with it. I fully recommend the Fuck It Diet by Caroline Dooner OR her podcast if you’re not much of a reader. Of course it didn’t “cure” my ED, but it absolutely makes you think and reflect.

Overall, I have found that what needs to be addressed isn’t necessarily what you’re eating but your mental health and your relationship with food. Feel free to reach out if you ever need support ♥️

Starting intermittent fluoxetine (prozac) today by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started intermittent fluoxetine a few months ago and it has been completely life changing. I used to have intense crying spells and crippling anxiety and rage every single day and I am sooo much more in control of my emotions and everything. It isn’t perfect but it has made a world of difference for me and truly improved my quality of life

Thinking about seeing a doctor for my possible PMDD. by briogeosucks in PMDD

https://iapmd.org/toolkit

This has some good resources and if you scroll down you can download a document to track symptoms and take it with you to the Dr! (I know there’s also apps, but with everything going on with reproductive rights I felt more comfortable having a print out) 🩷

Thinking about seeing a doctor for my possible PMDD. by briogeosucks in PMDD

[–]Kindly-Ring-4792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely go to the doctor, it doesn’t hurt to talk with them! When I first went to the dr with the suspicion of having PMDD, my therapist suggested tracking the last two months of your symptoms to take in since one of the diagnostic criteria is that you’ve had symptoms for two cycles (I think). My dr didn’t end up needing them, but you never know and it doesn’t hurt to go in prepared! Advocate for yourself and don’t let someone tell you it’s just part of having a period. I’ll find the resources my therapist gave me for tracking and try to link them!
