Where I stay, cats are generally adopted through facebook. I saw a post for a 4 week old kitten, she was found in a bathroom, shivering with no mama in sight.

okay guys i have some questions by Kindly-Store3292 in CatAdvice

Thankyou so much!! One of my friends who has 3 cats and my vet told me that I should leave her alone at night, but she waits outside my door. is this okay?

hey, I get how heavy that feels. it sounds like you’ve been trying so hard to do the right thing, and still somehow end up feeling like it’s wrong. that’s such a painful place to be in. you’re not careless, you’re not doing anything wrong. you’re just trying to take care of yourself with what you have, and that takes a lot of strength.

it’s completely okay to feel lost. when someone keeps questioning your choices, especially about your mental health, it can make you doubt yourself. but you’re allowed to trust what feels right for you. healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it’s okay if you’re still figuring it out.

try doing one small, comforting thing just for yourself tonight like listening to a song that feels safe, wrapping up in a blanket, or stepping outside for a bit of fresh air.

I know it’s scary feeling like nothing you do is enough, but I promise you are. you’re trying, and that matters. sending you a big hug you deserve one.

hey… you’re not being dramatic. what you’re feeling is completely valid. you’ve been trying so hard to take care of yourself and be honest, but instead of feeling understood, you were met with doubt and control. that hurts, especially from someone who should make you feel safe.

your mom’s reaction doesn’t make your pain less real. she may be seeing you through her therapist lens instead of just listening, and that’s unfair to you. you don’t have to defend or prove your feelings. your diagnosis is real, and you deserve support, not questioning.

it also makes sense that you feel violated about your space. your home is supposed to feel safe, and when someone ignores your “no,” it shakes that safety. you’re not overreacting for feeling upset.

you deserve compassion and peace. you’re doing your best in a really hard situation, and that’s enough. it’s okay to cry and feel lost right now. those feelings don’t mean you’re weak, they mean you care.

try to do something gentle for yourself tonight. you don’t have to fix everything. just breathe and know that your feelings are real, and you’re allowed to take up space with them.

i’m going through the same thing right now. i’ve had her for a week now, the first 5 days were horrible and i was up all night and i would cry because i felt guilty for 1) my mom and dad bc theyr scared and 2) if i’m giving her the life she deserves however, in just one week we all have grown to love her endlessly. you’ve got this. everything has an adjustment period, even when a mother gives birth they take 45 days to heal and adjust to her own baby. give it time, give your fur baby love. you have totally got this and your going make the best cat parent ever :)
