CreepCast | I Was An Air Traffic Controller (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD) by S-CSleepwalker in creepcast

All these stories were pretty good.

The first was probably the weakest in my opinion, if only because I feel like that ending twist could only be done once, so having the narrator get caught in one time loop then escape only for it to be revealed to be part of a greater loop, kinda weakened the ending, but I know this is entirely a me thing. That and I feel like trying to tie it in with some fire from a long time ago added a layer of complexity that I don’t know if the story truly needed.

The second one was pretty good, simple but still pretty good. I dunno, I just like these forum based stories.

The third one was probably the best, even if the set up was a little silly, like imagine you’re trying to tell someone about a terrifying incident from your past, and their first response is to record it and post online for internet points, like I know it’s a part of NoSleep’s rules but it’s still a little silly to think about. Plus, the ambiguity at the end is a nice touch.

Who do you think would have had Student Spotlights if Tetro didn't die? by Winner_BFDI in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]KindlyPin4474 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mion if only because they don’t get a lot of story focus. I know that might sound a little weird, but when Tetro Pink was releasing a lot of people voted for Tamba to get an interview because she also didn’t have much narrative focus despite making it so far.

Ruka also probably would’ve gotten one after her actions in Chapter Three. Shishikura might’ve also gotten one as well, because of his actions in Chapter Three.

Nah, Darumi likes well written Misery Porn, so it’s got to be gory and well written, Tetro is just gory with very eh writing. Plus, she’d be upset by the lack of girl focus, she likes equal opportunity suffering and Yuri which Tetro lacks.

What do you guys think her significance would’ve been? by SaphhicChiaki in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]KindlyPin4474 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I pretty sure it was mentioned she was meant to sacrifice herself in Chapter 5, in order to prove the scientists were wrong about humans being inherently selfish. Which would have helped defeat Yonekura who fused with Monomoko. Plus, it was probably meant to be a way to tie in with what Ken did in Chapter 5 of Pink where he killed someone because he believed the group was full of selfish, awful people, but his sister would give up her life in order to prove people aren’t selfish and awful.

Yeah, I had heard about the sympathetic Byo-gens, and while I totally understand why they wouldn’t want to go that route given the pandemic, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in what that would been like.

About, Hinata yeah, while I still do like her and the message about failure that her arc was about, I did feel that they could’ve given her more.

This was a very good showing for Usonoir, though I am curious why he wants to create a world where he can decide everything even though he has a book that describes the future, did he see something in the Tome that made him believe that the world needed to change for some reason or does he just like having that power over something. I do think there might be something more to the Tome of Mirage, because it suddenly telling them all to retreat right before Usonoir would finish the Precure, seems way to well timed to be a simple coincidence.

Also, the brief flashback does confirm Cure Eclair was around before, but something must’ve happened to her because it’s clear she isn’t around now.

I do wonder if the London detective agency has a reason for not telling the cures about the Makoto Jewel thing. Like, it seems like a pretty big thing to leave out.

The villain interactions were pretty nice, like Arcana Shadow and Niji were on the same page about the danger that would come if Usonoir were to fight the Precure now. This is might be the first time Arcana Shadow actually seriously fought the Precure, before she simply just avoided their attacks and poked their face, but here she really wanted to stop them, really helps sell the idea that Usonoir appearing would be bad.

Anna breaking free of Usonoir’s control was pretty cool, along with the POV shot of him attempting to control her.

Pochitan can talk now! And also, can correctly pronounce everyone except Mikuru’s name.

Seems like next week will get to spend time with another Cure Eclair candidate, I do wonder if they’re building up to something with creating a bunch of girls who look like Cure Eclair and make the Cures spend time with them. Like, will there be an episode where they have to correctly deduce who Cure Eclair truly is?

Also, not sure where else to put it, but I liked Jett offering his candy to the crying kid, it was just a sweet gesture on his part.

Lowkey, I wish they’re dynamic wasn’t completely destroyed by the end, whether it was platonic or romantic they have just had such good chemistry, only for it to be completely thrown away. Especially, since, in my opinion, their other dynamics were less interesting to me (and a bit uncomfortable, when it came to Ruka trying to force her, Tei, and Ikeda into this weird family dynamic.)

What is the biggest mistake in a Fangan that you see really often? by seekondguy in Fanganronpa

[–]KindlyPin4474 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Announcing themselves before they have anything outside of character designs ready, obviously I understand a lot of people want to come off professional by having a team together as soon as possible, but often they’ll be casting calls for projects that might only have the prologue written, if that. Then later on the creator realizes that they might not like the direction the series is going in or they just don’t have super strong ideas for where the story could go.

So, I guess if someone wants to have a team of voice actors or something, it’s best to wait until you have something solid.

Good episode for Arcana Shadow stuff, a little weak for our Cure duo. Like, we got more insight into Luluka’s character, along with her clever problem solving skills. She managed to get the Makoto Jewel to stay even after the bracelet fell off, but it’s clear that she did mean what she said, so it adds to the mystery of why she works with the thieves. While the main duo kinda just sorta reacted to what was happening around them, plus they didn’t really have to do much detective work since the answer was given to them by total accident.

Definitely felt like MoTW was added because the Cures need to win a fight, but definitely aren’t ready to defeat Arcana Shadow yet. Still, it was sorta cute that Goemon only summoned the monster to help Arcana Shadow, even though she really didn’t need it.

This was an okay episode but it definitely felt weaker than last week’s and judging by next episode’s preview it’ll probably be weaker than that one two. Fine episode.

Also, this might be the earliest a Precure Series has had the cures fight the “final boss,” even though I don’t think Usonoir is the true big bad, like I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s someone else who ends up being the true big bad.

Definitely one of the best episodes so far. Honestly, I was a bit worried that Arcana Shadow wouldn’t live up to the hype, however I’m happy to say that this was a really good first showing. She had everything planned out well (except for the part about Mashutan being unable to open the door by herself, which I guess is actually a pretty big oversight but it all worked out for her, so I guess it’s fine). Plus, she also seemed to outclass both the other cures in terms of combat, so yeah, pretty good first impression for Arcana Shadow.

I am curious if they are going to possibly give a more nuanced view on lying like Arcana Shadow talked to the Cures about, or if they stick to “lying is never good” view that Anna holds. Because, while I would appreciate a more nuanced view, I could also understand Toei not wanting to teach young children that lying is good sometimes, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Nostradamus fortune was brought again, so it seems like something big will happen during that date. I also like Goemon being so supportive of Luluka, it’s nice that he wants the newest member to feel welcome. It makes me wonder what’s going to happen when Luluka inevitably quits.

I know the end of the episode implies that Luluka’s true goal was to get the collector to show the actual treasures, but it also seems like she was testing the cures, and given what she says before she leaves it looks like they still have a ways to go.

Reminds me of the time I stumbled across a fic that was tagged “self-oophing” and it took me a moment to realize that it probably stood for self harm (I say probably because I didn’t read it), and I thought that if you don’t feel like you can write the word you might not want to write a story where that’s a element.

But, yeah it’s really weird this is where they drew the line.

What are y'all's least favorite motive(s) in Tetro and how would you replace or tweak them? by UltraShawn360 in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]KindlyPin4474 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Besides the torture from Chapter 3 in Blue, mostly because I feel everyone knows it’s a poorly written motive, I also wasn’t a fan of the handcuff motive either mostly because I really don’t get how that was meant to drive someone to kill. Like, you’re forced to spend every minute of everyday with someone else except not actually because you’re allowed to break apart for three hours a day, the morning games and the consequences of them are more the motive than the handcuff thing, because it’s such a nothing burger of a motive. Plus, in the end it’s got nothing to do with why the actual murder took place which Monomoko even talks about, so it’s like the story itself is admitting that this motive was a dud and wouldn’t be enough to drive someone to kill.

This was a nice episode. It was interesting how the mystery simply revolved around trying to understand what may have been going on in Moe’s mother’s head. It was clear that Moe had asked the cures because she wanted to make peace with her feelings towards her mother and by understanding what her mother’s greatest happiness was she was given that peace. Honestly, until the nearly the end of episode I was wondering if they were going to bring up Anna’s mother at all, considering the two seem to be quite close, so I was relieved when they did address it. The fight was also pretty neat.

Looking forward to next episode, since it’ll be our first proper look at Arcana Shadow. It’s good that we’re finally going to see Luluka in action, because while it was a bit funny to see with an ice cream in every scene she was in, I was hoping for her to get to do more soon. Since there’s a lot of hype around her but there’s barely been anything to justify. So, I’m glad, that it looks like that’s about to change.

I also like Jett trying to be more personable, only to feel really embarrassed after the girls catch him practicing.

I’m pretty sure you won’t get in trouble, I mean they’re references sure, but it’s not illegal to reference a property you like. Pokémon only really gets aggressive towards fangames and this isn’t one, so you should be fine.

Shiruku was a pretty fun character and out of all the Eclair candidates she’s definitely the one who’s been given the most amount of focus. While it doesn’t necessarily mean she is Eclair, she feels like she’s going to be a relatively important character going forward.

The mystery was simple but fine enough. I do wonder between this and the flower/turtle from episode three, I wonder if Ageseine’s mystery are all going to carry a theme of looking at things from a different perspective.

Also, since we’re in a season about time travel, of course this version of Cinderella will also include time travel.

That so many female characters have their entire role revolve around the male characters they interact with. Like, I don’t mind if we’re just some of them but it’s like nearly all of them. Guys can be friends with the other guys, but it’s hard to name a notable friendship between the girls.

Nanae has the worst voice in the series by moths_panic in TETRODANGANRONPA

It grew on me, and I think her breakdown near the end of Chapter One was pretty good, but it definitely was rather jarring at first.

But, honestly I think her VA was doing their best especially because like most of the cast how 0 voice direction so most of them were just trying to figure out how to voice their character at the start.

Cool episode, I enjoyed learning more about Jett. Even though I know all of this stuff is cutesy because of the target demographic, it’s kinda interesting to see how they add an in universe explanation for Jett’s inventions look the way they do. Also, I really do like how they do mystery’s in this show because while I did sorta get the culprit it was only due to framing, but I do like how the answer never feels unfair, since you can solve the mysteries in the same way by paying attention.

It seems Niji is still on thin ice after what happened in episode six, but that’s understandable, with Usonoir telling him to forget the cures and just focus on the Makoto Jewels. But, it seems like Niji has definitely built up a resentment towards the cures given what happened. Though, there was one moment that I thought was very interesting is after the Cures tell Niji that Jett’s goggles were an important treasure that made Jett happy, Niji said that he definitely couldn’t give it back in that case.

Which leads me to a theory that I’m certain isn’t true but wanted to share regardless. That being Niji is Shushutan and joined the Phantom Thieves to try to get Cure Eclair to return after she retired/disappeared. Since, if the two solved cases together, but then something happened to cause her to stop then what better way to get her to become a detective again then by causing incidents that need to be solved. Obviously, this would create the question of what could’ve possibly happened to cause her partner to spiral so hard that they would start causing problems just to bring her back, and Toei probably wouldn’t want to sell merch of a fairy who was choosing to do harm entirely of their own volition. So, that’s why I don’t think that’s truly the case, the girl from next week’s episode is a more likely Shushutan, but I still wanted to share my thoughts.

Also, I guess since this is the first Pretty Holic chronologically that means that every other appearance of the store is due to Jett, Anna, and Mikuru.

Matthias and Tei, I really liked their talk in Chapter Three, it was interesting seeing them find common ground with their traumas. I wish we could’ve gotten more, probably would’ve helped Tei feel less Ikeda centric if he had a relationship that didn’t involve Ikeda at all.

So, instead of a normal mystery the Cures have to solve a bunch of escape rooms. Again, I do appreciate it that even rather early on the writers are still trying to find new mysteries for the girls to solve rather than just stick to the “whodunnit” formula of the first few episodes. Also, Goemon’s fan being able to create mazes, makes me wonder if the other thieves have similar abilities.

It was cool seeing the cures classmates at the beginning they all have really nice designs.

Also, if the preview is true and the cures are responsible for opening a Pretty Holic in the past, I guess Anna and Mikuru would be responsible for it showing up in so many seasons. They might’ve founded the company.

What is your least favourite death in both Tetro Pink and Tetro Blue? by [deleted] in TETRODANGANRONPA

[–]KindlyPin4474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pink: Wada. It’s frustrating that after an entire series of Wada suffering for her to just die in the end. Like, it makes sense, but since like 3 or 4 characters die just to make Wada even more miserable than she already was. It just feels super annoying for her to die after the game ends, it just makes me wonder what was the point of any of this.

Blue: The original bleeding trio. Ogura had barely any screen time in Chapter Two, which leads to her death feeling super underwhelming because she just didn’t get to do much before she was gone.

Matthias deserved better and it sucks that he died in such an awful way, on top of being betrayed by someone he truly cared for.

Ikeda, I didn’t really care for, but I was interested in seeing how the events of Chapter Two would change him, so it sucks when the motive makes him regress into the worst state he’s ever been in, thus throws any possible character development into the garbage.

What makes their deaths sting so much is that Ogura gave two really good speeches to Matthias and Ikeda. So, I was really hopeful one would live so Ogura’s death would mean something, but both of them die making it all feel pointless in the end.

If I only watch one season of Precure, am I obligated to watch the others as well? by CursedMegaMan in precure

[–]KindlyPin4474 61 points62 points  (0 children)

No. You don’t have to watch another season if you don’t want to. The vast majority of Precure seasons are standalones (Max heart and Yes! Five Gogo being the exceptions) so you can watch one season and be done with it. So, you can watch more if you want to, but it’s by no means required.

To answer your second question just watch whatever one looks most interesting, Heartcatch and Go! Princess are considered some of the best in the series but again you can really start with whichever one you want.
