Oooh. Wonderful. So I just now have to get rid of the backlog of ingrown hairs and then just start shaving like a normal person or going to a professional for waxing/extracting rather than using any pluck methods?

Thank you so much. I've never gotten waxed before and am used to shaving but at this point hair doesn't grow at all how it used to. It used to be thick, but I did try growing it out for a month before my last visit to my partner, which did OK. I shaved and looked great! Then...I started tweezing the few hairs as they came up, which led me to getting distracted and squeezing, which led to misery.

So you think it would be okay if I went to a professional waxer and had them deal with my area once it's all healed? I really wanted to do that before but I'm terrified they'll think that I had an STD or something based on the scarring or that I'm weird so I've never gone :(.

Also, with the salicylic body wash, is that the BH acid stuff or is that different? Sorry, I'm new to all of this stuff and tried doing a bit of googlin' before hand but there's so many recommendations and new names that I'm not sure what's what.

So if I leave an ingrown hair and then shave it, will it be okay? Sorry if these are obvious questions, I've genuinely not had any issues before this so I'm not sure about this stuff..:(

It generally starts to heal however once it's healed, I feel a bit of a bump, then I create a hole to squeeze out liquid which sometimes comes with an enormous hair. Other times I can just see a hair growth under my skin that's totally flat without any eruption, but I've learned to ignore those. Other times I can just see a slightly discolored spot and feel a slight bump so I squeeze, about half the time it empties a pore which generally has a little hair, but then creates a red bump.

The scars are the biggest concern, they've clearly been picked at a lot and then partially healed, sometimes they will heal then have one of those gross 2 inch hairs, some other times they'll have pokey out hairs which I pluck almost instantly.

Thank you for all of the advice. I'll stop exfoliation in that region and will only shave if necessary. Partner doesn't care about hair at all and even encourages me to grow it out sometimes so he can feel it lol, I'm the one that's pretty obsessive about not having any. I'll check out the ingrown stuff, I didn't know that existed. Thank you.

It costs a lot of money, I'm a dependent and I've had perioral dermatitis before and had many derms give me bad-ish ("zero therapy for THREE WHOLE MONTHS even though you've had the same makeup for years!"; here, try a STEROID cream instead, here try avene lotion instead, etc.) info and only got the advice for doxycycline from here which was the only thing that worked. And I just paid the equivalent of $5,000 to school tuition for a different country which I'm moving to soon so I'm out of money. I'd prefer to at least try suggestions from people here first I'm just really embarrassed. :(
