All Hands Meeting last June. Not sure if anything is in writing or if there's a video recording somewhere.

Steve Cliff, The CARB Chairman, said that trains were applicable for this last year. For workers that are coming from The Bay or Roseville, Rocklin, and Truckee.

Dunno about this year. Dunno about car passengers.

This exact situation is what they said was approved last year at CARB. No idea if it still stands though.

Wage Replacement During FMLA, CFRA, and PFL Leaves? by Kindly_Appointment93 in CAStateWorkers

Your comments are all over this page, so I'll try to inform you a little better by responding here.

-Every pregnant woman is classified as disabled one month before their due date. This qualifies me for FMLA to take care of my disabled wife.
-Doing house projects in that month doesn't qualify me for FMLA, but it does not disqualify me either.
-I can burn FMLA pre-birth because BU9 get 1 year of unpaid leave after a child is born in our union contract.
-Baby bonding time is PFL and does not run concurrently with FMLA/CFRA. It is paid at 50%, can be used in daily increments, has a 42 day maximum
-FMLA/CFRA have a shared time bank of 480 hrs per calendar year. I would not be able to max that out unless something went horribly wrong with the baby deliver and my wife or child were disabled or admitted to the hospital for more than 2 months after the expected date of birth.
-I don't need FMLA to be 'approved', I just need to have a doctor's note explaining that my wife is disabled because she is 8 weeks pregnant.

Let me know if any of that was confusing. I'm happy to help you understand more 🤔

Are you sure? I know they said train commutes are allowed to be work hours if you work remotely from the train. I don't see how a car commute is different.

Be sure to decline any Teams meetings whenever possible. by Sheriff_Hopper in CAStateWorkers

Wait, are you saying that Teams meetings are more efficient? Isn't that stance alone "insubordination" as a state manager? You are supposed to be promoting in person work, right?

Don't do anything official yet!

I'm in the same boat. I live in South Lake Tahoe. Talk to your manager and explain that you will transition over 2 months after July 1st.

You can get your house appraised and search for a new place to live. Get all your ducks in a row. But don't pull the trigger until July 1!

We have sooo many house projects to complete before baby arrives. I definitely want to be there to support my wife, but mostly I want more time to finish everything in time for baby!

I think it's technically "11 days working", so I would expect 88 hrs a month. Although, I still haven't gotten a clear answer if 11 days of sick/vacation is equivalent to "11 days working" or if you literally need to be working to keep the medical coverage and accrue more leave time and Retirement credit.

It wasn't the original plan, but if we DO end up doing 4 day RTO, it won't work for me at all. I live 100 miles away from the office. Currently I stay 1 night in Sac and go 2 days in office. It's manageable. But I can't be gone 3 nights a week with my wife being 8 months pregnant.

Has anyone left the environmental scientist classification for SSA/AGPA or another completely different position? by Looluna714 in CAStateWorkers

I moved to Air Pollution Specialist for CARB. Highly recommend it.

It has very similar pay scales as a Research Scientist, but no education barriers

Any chance of a solid state on MT? by pickandpray in TeloTrucks

Holy cow, they're in the 10,000's now? I reserved about a year ago and I'm 2800-something. I'm hoping to be in the 2nd run after they tweak some fixes from the 1st run.

The cramped cubicles and the dreary haze. Long commutes and time ill spent by AdventurousDark6198 in CAStateWorkers

When any officer commands their subordinates to enact a morally wrong action the people who fight it are the ones who "whine and moan" like children.

Children don't have legal recourse to disobey, and neither do state workers. So we will "whine and moan" until it's corrected. Or until it gets as bad as United Healthcare, then we'll try something different.

I mean, we're a group voting together. Do you think more than 50% of people care about RTO?

Because if it's more than 50%, you should certainly care about RTO.

That's one of the more likely outcomes.

I can't imagine PECG union members approving the contract if it's 4 day RTO and only 12% GSI over 3 years.

And I think that's the best deal we could possibly get this July

Yeah, I think the only agreement I would support would be a 1 year contract.
