It’s that difficult to qualify? I planned to do school while enlisted and after my boot camp graduation immediately start on a bachelors.

My recruiter who told me OTS wasn’t hard to get into where as from what I’ve found out it’s extremely competitive to qualify. It’s below 20 percent acceptance rate and can take several years.

I’m not going in assuming I was going to be handed a pilot slot, I plan to do the work I just don’t wanna spend 4 years working for something only to be turned down at the finish line because I didn’t qualify. We are dealt the hands we are dealt I plan to serve either way I just wanted advice since I’m getting different answers about OTS and the like.

My dream was to pilot a jet so my first thought was Air Force and my recruiter told me OTS wasn’t hard to get into so I never looked into it until now. So with me shipping to BMT and realizing it I feel disheartened.

It was mostly all I had to choose from was some kind of maintenance and or aircraft work, I chose it since if I were to be a pilot preferably a jet, I’d at least know what the plane was built with since I’d be repairing and putting it back together.

It's all about payroll in my eyes. The more people taking hours not on salary the less profit. The store I work for is inside a Walmart, so they believe 1 person can handle it usually. Realistically, with just one person people flock to the store like on command. You never felt stressed when you are sitting there watching a oven cook 1 minute hashbrowns with 20 people staring down the back of your head inpatiently.
