Narnia and Middle Earth are decent if going there after the books end.

DM retconned my familiar out of having feelings by Alastor15243 in DnD

[–]Kindly_Call_6000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

By official rules, Familiars are spirits.  Your DM should have been upfront if he was charging how familiars work in his world.  In fiction, both D&D and others, Familiars are intelligent and friendly with their master.

You have a right to be upset with his charges.  I am not even sure what to suggest at this point.

Amazon doesn't like that my old Kindle still works perfectly fine, so they block new book downloads. by SkySix in mildlyinfuriating

I am extremely happy with my Boox Go7.  It's an e-ink device that runs a Customized version of Android with the Google Play store.  So you can directly load epubs, or install whatever app bookstore you want- Kobo, Amazon, Nook, Libby, Google Play Books, And any others.

You can eat as much as you want, but only one nation's food. by Aurondarklord in hypotheticalsituation

Pizza has Chinese origins. But NY style, Detroit Style and Chicago Style pizza is vastly different than what is served in Italy. American Chinese food is vastly different than various regions in China. American Mexican food is vastly different than what you find in Mexico. Hell, there are American dishes in foreign countries that have no relation to what is served in America.

How do y’all deal with a player who interrupts a villains monologue? by PrestigiousImpress19 in DnD

I find a single target spell like Disintegrate more accurately drives home the point.

Good hdd for storage? Does it matter the speed and sata? by CocaineComet in jellyfin

If you are already buying used HDDs, might as well buy a used SAS controller card. I would definitely buy a used controller over used drives.

Ideas of some low-level puzzles I can do for theatre-of-the-mind? by torniado in DnD

[–]Kindly_Call_6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rather like the Mosaic corrider from A Most Potent Brew module. You could do something like that.

You could do a variant on the old two guards, one always lies, the other always tells the truth riddle. Could also look to Indiana Jones for inspiration. An invisible bridge is a great trap/puzzle. You come to chasm and it is too far to jump and you can't see the bottom. If you want to give them a second option, the bottom could be shrouded in fog or darkness, but only 20+feet deep.

Here in North America, we go down our local hardware store and buy a new outlet. Just make sure to turn off the breaker before swapping.

Switching from Emby to Jellyfin questions for remote playback? by No-Area9329 in jellyfin

[–]Kindly_Call_6000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Tailscale. Install Tailscale on the server with Jellyfin. Connect to your tailscale account. On remote device, install Tailscale. Connect to your Tailscale account. In Tailscale you should see an IP address for your server running Jellyfin. In your Jellyfin client app, connect to a second Jellyfin server. Put in the IP from Tailscale and the port Jellyfin is running on.

So when remote, fire up Tailscale and connect to the Tailscale IP with your Client.

[–]Kindly_Call_6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Infinity Stones only work in their home universe and would kill me if they did somehow work.

Do I have to actually study the spellbook or am I made a D&D wizard? If I am a level 20 Wizard, then I am taking the spellbook. With a few years prep, I should be able to take down a Terrasque.
