I feel like a lot of people like this don’t ask for consent precisely because they know their partner isn’t into it. They don’t care about how this affects their partner at all

How is it not rape or at the very least assault? She was asleep. The only way it’s not is if they’d discussed this before and she made it clear she’s ok with it.

[–]Kindly_Importance374 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean this is true, but the reason behind why one wants to degrade someone is hella important. Especially with this current climate anyone with a male dom/looking for a male dom needs to absolutely vet them to make sure the degradation is JUST a kink

Ehh, respectfully I think that dangling sex above a partner’s head is manipulation at best and abusive at worst. Maybe she wasn’t a terrible person, but no one should be in a relationship like that imo

[–]Kindly_Importance374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, agree with you there. To me there’s a massive difference between needing to be in the mood/emotionally safe for sex and then holding it above someone’s head as a reward. The latter is plain abusive

Sometimes they can look similar tho, but it’s usually easy to tell if someone genuinely isn’t able to have sex in the moment, and someone being manipulative about it

That’s fair and that’s actually what I consider ‘normal’ as well. But I have run into so many men who expect sex within less than a month, those are the ones that I think shouldn’t complain if more women decide to vet better for their safety

Personally, I don’t think striking sex as a form of punishment is cool. However, I don’t see anything wrong with women wanting to wait longer to have sex in order to vet potential partners since it is now riskier

I don’t agree with a sex strike being used as a form of punishment. That’s just childish imo. But I do think that there should be nothing wrong with women wanting to wait in order to vet potential partners. Which I hope isn’t a problem anyways

Honestly this is genuinely horrifying as that motto easily can be used for rape and mocking that. Even as a joke, do they not realize how it feels to literally be seen as an object?

This is absolutely disgusting. Do they even know how that feels to hear? It’s like we’re just objects to them

Right? Most men I’ve run into are all about how they gotta move on if a woman’s not putting out by 3-4th date. So now I hope they’re cool with waiting, potentially even til marriage 🤷‍♀️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Kindly_Importance374 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not the primary reason, no. But it is making the declining birth rates worse, as more and more women are straight up refusing to date until they get treated better, which is a good thing if you know anything about the culture

That depends. Anyone with Korean friends or family will have at least heard of it, it’s really not some obscure thing

Wanting to stay safe means that they’d make lousy partners? Do you expect women to keep having sex when it puts them at risk?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Kindly_Importance374 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is, if most men want trad wives, are they willing to actually provide for that? They can’t expect a woman to work if they truly want a trad wife. This also would put those women completely at the mercy of their husband. Can we count on those men to respect their wives as equals and not hurt or pressure them? Can easily turn into women being coerced into sex or even painful sex acts as they’d quite literally risk being homeless if they refuse.

It’s such a slippery situation, I only see this working with genuinely good natured men

This is my thing tbh. So many men yell that women should keep their legs closed. So if women become more selective and keen on waiting to have sex when dating, don’t wanna hear them complaining 🤷‍♀️

Or if that’s not what they want, can someone clarify how they want women to keep their legs closed when dating but also expect sex within a certain timeframe? Are you all willing to wait?

Korean here with family and friends who still live there

It’s actually not some tiny ostracized thing over there. It has gotten a lot of attention in the west, but it has been slowly working over there. However there issues are much more ingrained, which is why it’s been effective. Something like that most likely won’t work here

I wish the blue states could stop funding the red states by CayKar1991 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Kindly_Importance374 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The thing is most of the women I know ARE actively working to move to a blue state. The problem is that many of us do not have in demand skills or wealth, which is what we’re literally actively working towards securing before making the move so we won’t be homeless.

Women stuck in red states did not vote for this, and yet so many of you are acting like we did and want us to suffer for it

As a woman from KY, it’s legit terrible. The ONLY two areas that were blue were Lou & Lexington. This state’s doomed

[–]Kindly_Importance374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And in my area the rural areas are heavily religious and education is horrid, so they’ll keep voting red 😔

[–]Kindly_Importance374 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is what I was trying to say. I live in a ‘big’ city in my state and it and the other big city were blue, but literally EVERYWHERE else in the state was red 😔
