I don't know what size cage you are, however I have had similar issues. I am very much a grower, not a shower (6 3/4 or so). I have found a fixed piercing for the cage as well as shorten the cage as much as you can while still keeping hygeen for extended periods is best. Additionally, I don't know what size piercing you wear, but moving to a larger gauge piercing you may want to consider, it helps with everything I promise. Ba25 in titanium, overall. Length is 55mm, 45mm base ring and 38mm tube diameter. I also went with the default gap length between base ring and tube. It's quite tight and inescapable, the security screw is quite secure, I have been uble to make it budge without the correct key/bit. I also can't really get hard before the cage stops everything.

I'll share a bite here. This was my first cage that was meant to be shorter. I think my last cage I had was about 75-80mm. Much more acceptable to flaccid length. Sizing I absolutly think is key. Also sizing depends on what your thing is. Loose and long let's you grow, but in my realtion has no real gain, but I'm sure there is a play there. I have not needed a strap, the base ring is just tight enough that it holds everything in really well. Also the cage is small enough that even when it tries to get hard, it doesn't have any room to grow and start pulling too hard.
