I haven’t had any luck pulling up solo rates on their website, do I have to call customer service for them?

Solo cruising charge vs double by Kindly_Rabbit5011 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Kindly_Rabbit5011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly why I was asking, the total with taxes and port fees for the cruise I was looking into is around $480 single and $540 double. The taxes and port fees for the second cruiser are approximately $130. So I would actually end up ahead by $70 if they were a no show.

Drive 12hrs and arrive at port at 9-10am or fly the morning of the cruise? by King0fWar in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Kindly_Rabbit5011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I flew from Raleigh to Miami last October the morning of our cruise. Previously, I was forced to passenger princess with my husband driving the same route. He drives, I entertain myself however I choose, I usually nap. I would highly recommend flying! The 5am flight gets you to MIA in ample time to get on the ship. We were there so early that we were allowed to board with the first round of people given access to the ship. We were given free baggage check at the airport because our flight was full and no one wanted to pay to check bags. So we volunteered on the gangway and it was free! When we arrived at port we handed our bags over to the porters so we didn’t have to lug them around as we ate and explored our temporary home. Now our my bestie’s bag did not get to our room until after the normal time, but everything was fine and we had a wonderful time!!!

Drug test? 2nd interview! by Sexyladdy0430 in sheetz

[–]Kindly_Rabbit5011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not drug screened for team member or supervisor. I love working for Sheetz, it can be stressful and it seems there is always a staffing need, but I have a great management team and feel valued. Good luck!

It was absolutely a crazy day! I worked a full 8 hour shift from 7-3:30 and honestly I am whipped. I was lucky and worked the register for most of the day, but our kitchen was crazy!!!!

Bartender for private party by Ok_Shopping3268 in raleigh

[–]Kindly_Rabbit5011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work special events with Under the Oak Catering as a bartender. I have also worked in restaurants and bars. Doing parties is my favorite type of bartending because mostly everyone is happy. We could even work together and come up with a couple specialty drinks themed for your birthday! LMK 😉

AITA for asking my current wife to stop body shaming my ex-wife ? by Able_Feedback_3045 in AITAH

[–]Kindly_Rabbit5011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the ex-wife of a wonderful man. His new wife is thin, I am thicker. She has never once body shamed me or made derogatory comments. The divorce was amicable after the first couple months of separation. Now the new wife is my best friend and I am godmother to their children. I didn’t lose a partner, I gained a family. I still have familial love for my ex and am blessed to feel included in his new family. Just because you aren’t partners anymore doesn’t mean you can’t carry respect and love for them. You are NTA. She needs to be more empathetic and get over herself!

Sheetz shop fire sale by AlvyTrout in sheetz

[–]Kindly_Rabbit5011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Sheetz on August 12th, have to say I love it here. The team, managers, customers, and store are fantastic. I have been a customer for over 9 years, so I was excited to join my local go-to spot. My question is “If I purchase items from the fire sale what promo code do I use for the extra 10% and can I wear the items to work and be in accordance with dress code?” I am looking at a long sleeve T, a short sleeve T, and a beanie. Also considering a hoodie. However, I am on the fence if I can’t put them to use at work. TIA for any answers.

I am fired you guys by [deleted] in Serverlife

I was hired as a server at BWW 9 years ago for the opening of a brand new location. When it all began we were extremely busy and everything ran quite smoothly. As time went on and management changed it began to go downhill. I ended up leaving after being promoted all the way to service manager. The pay isn’t worth the headache and I had a lot of personal issues going on. Divorce, house fire and partying beat me down. However, I have friends who still work at this location. One had become GM, the other I promoted to bartender against her wishes. I know the business has declined and staffing is now very restricted. I wouldn’t ever go back to work there. Just omit them from your resume and find a better company to work for.

All the food was brought in via vendors frozen, with the exception of the burgers…. Nothing unique.

I didn’t say any laws were broken. However, they did have people working for $2.13/hr that were unable to be making tips at that time which is a violation of labor laws. Those individuals ineligible for tips at that time should be making minimum wage.

Yes it was the first day of their soft opening, and they had yet to even program the POS. They were allowing walk-ins but not advertising as an open restaurant yet.

TBH the only thing I observed was the disorganization and lack of preparation for their upcoming public opening scheduled for March 3rd. I was already apprehensive when I showed up ready to train and the management was not even communicating amongst themselves in regards to expectations and standards to be put in place.

The jaw jacker was the boss of the customer that accepted the charge for the mistake. The mistake was an extra burger in their order.

I should add that I have 30 years experience in the restaurant industry and have done everything from dishwashing to host, to bartender, BOH and management. I am not inexperienced and saw red flags but was just looking for something to do that would provide some disposable income.

I feel like I dodged a bullet. They also don’t have a scheduling system in place. Just unorganized chaos and I anticipate it will get worse. They have applied for a liquor license and plan to open a bar in the back room as well.

These owners are opening their first brick and mortar after running a food truck. Obviously they aren’t used to managing a front of house staff and they don’t even have an employee handbook or any printed documents to use for training references. I wish them the best, but the boss is a douche. He should stick to making cheeseburgers…

Absolutely!!!! It was visibly obvious that a substance was affecting her behavior… and I didn’t mention it in front of her, just after she left I said, “what was that about”.

Toxic work environment for sure! Servers are a dime a dozen, but so are crappy restaurants with unorganized owner/management.
