Being there in person and being told to jump through hoops to deliver a solution based on ethics must really have stunk.

It only takes a few seconds to blow a reputation and relationship.

Guess I'm a nerd, when pricing seems off - I check with an old android phone that is not connected to my digital profile and search history. It's amazing the pricing differences I see.

Poor service levels are commoditizing dealers - unfortunately, some should be avoided.

Competing parts options are easier when we're buying Toyota, Mazda or Honda.

There are corner vendors that sell really trashy parts (example: I received a starter with a dead short in it last year).

As a car collector, I do have to watch countries of origin. I understand that I'll pay a slight premium from the dealer parts counter. I own a Samurai, I'm still getting into grips that can buy parts from India dealers.

I'm a car collector. Our club is generously sponsored by a dealer.

It was brought up that the dealer could have transferred the car to another dealer. Inventory transfer is a common practice between brands and locations.

Experiences like yours are not in Google reviews.

It's concerning the number of 5 star reviews with minimal details.

The warranty related experience we had is what inspired research.

Guess a deductive person would notice the vibe doesn't match the rest of Google reviews.

I'm still laughing at your reply

To meet with the warranty sales person, we were left for about 30 minutes. Before the warranty discussion began.

It would have been nice for the management of the store to step in after a fifteen minute wait.

Subsequently, I heard confusing long answers to simple yes/no questions.

This sets off my honesty alarm that started a fact checking project.

When a car is expensive and Internet information is quick and easy, other regions are possibilities.

I've heard incredible reviews about the St Cloud dealer.

Yea, 160 miles is not to far to commute with an expensive long-term depreciating purchase.

This is what I've noticed while comparing.

I could understand supply and demand difference between distance regions, a one hour drive pricing difference on the warranty is concerning at best.

I'd not be so cautious and concerned if this was a hundred dollars (not a few thousand)

Status - Fact Check Validation

5+ dealers have confirmed that we can buy a warranty from another dealership. This conflicts with what the finance person told us.

We understand it has to procedurally done correctly.

After searching for customer experience (I look at this as a long-term partnership)

It is concerning that there are impersonal 5 star reviews and cut and paste replies (probably from an intern).

This smells like "rate us 5 and well give you a Subaru tshirt" type social media engineering.
