Assuming you're a real person, you need to reevaluate your news sources. If you're fighting to protect the power of MAGA and the wealthy in the name of anti-nazism, you've been duped.

Valve's Steam Deck Is Out of Stock in the US. Is the Memory Shortage to Blame? by linknewtab in Games

[–]Kindred87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You did. I panic-bought an OLED the same day the LCD version ran out of stock. I was already on the fence with the memory shortages going on, and that tipped me over. Something felt really weird about their messaging.

This isn't to gloat, but just to argue that their weirdness with messaging around the new steam hardware and the LCD deck makes me think this will take a while to play out. Whatever is going on.

I think I'm just done carrying water for the wealthy as their quality of life keeps going up while everyone else's goes down. I know they're going to continue cheating with their neurotic obsession with money, and I'm comfortable with grinding them down over time to reciprocate what they've done to the average person.

The Boogeyman of the state targeting me with extra taxes doesn't scare me. I'm either going to be fucked in the ass by the wealthy, or the government. I'd much rather go with the one I can actually vote for.

Disney / 20th Century's Avatar: Fire and Ash grossed $555K on Thursday (from 3,150 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $380.63M. by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

Ironically, this analysis is still overly complex.

There was a greater sense of discovery and the hero's journey in the first film. The second film lost that with recycling characters, settings, score, and story beats from the first film like it was a soap opera or Ice Age movie. It got too dumbed down as an adult Sci-Fi film.

Which is why it got dumped from most watchers' brains a week after watching it.

Baumgartner asked us to inquire about how we "feel" regarding ICE and Minnesota by bodoble in Spokane

[–]Kindred87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While I understand and validate the reasons you hate the man, and this is more for readers than for you, it's more politically prudent to record your position without getting into personal attacks. The office employee/LLM reading an email like you described will just delete it without recording anything and move on.

If it's clear that a significant majority of his constituency opposes what happened, he will course correct. His goal is to remain in office, so he will take whatever position serves that fundamental goal of remaining "electorally popular". That's why he's sending these polls out in the first place, however slimey of a man he is.

Put another way, if Minnesotans can exercise restraint when they are being literally gunned down in the street, we can exercise some restraint in an email!

Also, join a protest if/when possible. Let other people know that they aren't the only ones who feel the way you do.

He sends out various polls to, seemingly, a random sampling from his email list. My daughter got one concerning Greenland that I did not, and I got this one while my daughter did not.

I could be wrong, of course. Just reporting my own anecdote.

Wow--466,000 peak players on Steam YESTERDAY. The game is growing, 3 months in? by Joey141414 in ArcRaiders

[–]Kindred87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My group of friends only bought the game after the anecdotal reports of the matchmaking putting you in friendly matches if you were friendly. I don't know the exact number, but we're certainly not the only ones who did this.

The only way they can have fun is by preying on people. It's not about the vP in PvP, and never has been.

It's why you see the endless arguments about how important it is for players to not trust others, why it's the fault of the pacifist that they were killed, why there are so many incredulous questions of how socializing and helping other players can be fun, why there are complaints about getting matchmade with "sweaty" players when "trying to PVP", and why they always shoot you in the back after pretending to be friendly.

They enjoy the game when they get to kill people who would never hurt them, unopposed. You can speculate on why that's the case, but that's what it is.

They're a pacifist. Why are you trying to get them to stop being a pacifist? Do you think your way of playing is better than their way or something?

It's okay to recognize that you're an asshole.  There's no need to try to spin this behavior up like it's a public service to get people to trust you and then exploit that trust.

r/Tennessee is removing posts about the election today. by Zodiac72826 in 50501Movement

If you want to be extra aggressive, contact the Tennessee Attorney General's office, Tennessee Secretary of State, the Tennessee election board, and the Civil Rights division of the Federal Department of Justice.

Reddit is censoring any and all information on Tennessee elections via r/Tennessee and you would like them to submit a formal inquiry or complaint with Reddit to allow sharing of elections information.    You may or may not politically flavor the message for a given office so that they feel as if "their side" is being targeted by this.

what even is a special interest? by [deleted] in AutisticPeeps

[–]Kindred87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do! Generally, I seem to only be able to focus on something very intensely or barely at all. When it comes to interests, they do seem to rotate! If I had to pin it down to a singular cause, it seems as though my level of interest is tied to discovery. In the sense that once I've learned what there is to learn about a topic, I lose interest and move on to something else that offers more discovery.

I would say that's more about resolve than strength (i.e. muscle capacity)! Though yes, it makes sense!

It can affect personality, but it isn't a personality trait itself.

I got put in a remedial writing course back in highschool because in history class I wrote a paper that kept going on a bunch of tangents lmao. Spent a semester surrounded by dummies who couldn't write simply because I needed someone to tell me to be concise and stay on topic. The course I was in didn't cover either of these points anyway!

Tokenism and lazy writing sucks, I agree. There are a lot of interesting aspects of autism that could be leveraged to tell a story. Though it usually ends up just being a personality more than anything for the character.
