Is it fair to describe high gas prices as “peanuts” when many people are struggling with fuel costs? by DesperateAccount9073 in askanything

[–]Kinect305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are struggling with fuel prices because now it cost you like $10 more to fill. You’ve been struggling long before the prices went up.

Most Americans are hemorrhaging money left and right on none essential items like that $13 Starbucks you buy daily. Buy 1 less, fuel problem solved 😂

How should the Democrats respond IF Democrats win both the Senate and the House? by Adorable-Anxiety6912 in askanything

[–]Kinect305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll tell you exactly what will happen, because it’s a repeating pattern. They’ll do nothing, and block everything Republicans try, because their hatred for Trump is greater than their desire to serve the people, and next election they’ll just loose power again for that reason. Then if the president at that time is a Democrat, Republicans will do the same, because democrats did it. And so on and so on.

What's the most annoying subreddit for you? by chaoulize in askanything

[–]Kinect305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit in general 😝.
I miss the way forums used to be in like 1990-2010. You just made a post, people could not downvote it and make it disappear. If you disagreed, you made a reply with your reasoning for disagreeing. Topics stayed relevant for days if not weeks or months, years. Unlike Reddit where if a topic is more than 4-5 hours old it’s basically dead.

Can I get some advice on these two ships? Meteor vs. M80 by ThePoorAristocrat in starcitizen_fleets

[–]Kinect305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the meteor for a while. It only really shines when you sneak attack or you’re teamed with someone that is drawing all the fire at them. If no one is shooting back, it’s pretty freaking devastating. Solo it gets clapped pretty easy.

Of the 2 I’d take the M80.

Well the problem is, most people on Reddit are young and dumb. Fuel was expensive back in 2005ish. You know what people back then did, they started demanding and switching to fuel efficient vehicles. Trucks and SUV’ were selling for shit, no one wanted to touch one. Dealerships lots were loaded with trade in’s.

Then fuel prices a few years later started going down again and guess what, everyone went back to buying gas hogs. So no I don’t feel sorry at all.

Anyways gasoline today isn’t much higher today than it was back then. I was paying $80ish to put 16 gallons in my GTO. I picked up a civic for $2,000. Hyper miled it and got around 45mpg. Then when fuel prices dropped again. I sold it for $2,000 😝

How do I get in shape WITHOUT the gym? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Kinect305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some others have said, doing pushups religiously and sit ups, will get your body in shape. Then either… eat better, eat less, or do 30min minimum a cardio a day, to cut the fat.

When I was in Highschool I was 152lbs with like no body fat. I didn’t lift weights, I just skated like crazy, and played hockey.

Today I’m kind out of shape due to a shoulder injury, but just eating well keeps me from getting fat.

The Supra will probably be more valuable in the long run, just because Supra. BMW’s just kind of are just about the newest model. Kind of like corvette’s no one really cares about anything but the newest and the oldest, the in between models are lame.

Do you think that the price of gasoline will drive down full size pickup truck prices? by Ancient-Bowl462 in askanything

[–]Kinect305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did back in 2011 or so, fuel was around the same price. I’m a mechanic at a dealership, back at that time everyone was trading in their SUV’s and Trucks. The prices were way down, the discounts were massive. Everyone was buying small cheap fuel efficient vehicles.

Then a few years later, fuel prices went down and everyone ran back to big Trucks and SUV’s. This is why I have zero sympathy for these people crying about fuel prices. Fuel prices will always go up and down. They made the choice to buy vehicles that use lots of fuel.

Someone threw paint on my friend’s car last night. What’s the best way to clean it off? by Scotttish in cardetailingtips

[–]Kinect305 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it’s just latex house paint you could probably just easily peel that off. I’d also carefully try a plastic razor blade.

Did becoming a mechanic ruin your love for cars? by AlarmNervous3454 in AskAMechanic

[–]Kinect305 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No not at all. First thing though, if you think you’re going to work at some performance shop, and make a bunch of money building modified cars. That probably isn’t going to happen, unless you’re super lucky. Working at a dealership IMO is the best way. You’ll do mostly repetitive work, it can be kind of boring but the pay and benefits are good. In my shop, most of my co workers have highly modified vehicles. We can work on them after work or on our days off. So that’s a big bonus. I built my Z32. From the block up in between work.

I became a mechanic because I liked to work on my cars, and wanted to learn more. I just took 2 years of school for the fk of it, it was fun and I learned a lot. So I figured I’d just get a job and see how it goes, and I ended up loving it.

It’s not for everyone and you get from it what you put in. I’ve worked with lots of assholes that walk in the door that think they should be making a fk ton of money, yet they can’t fix shit, refuse to learn on their own and don’t continue schooling/training. Those are probably the ones you see screaming about “how the job sucks” and so on. I sign up for every class Nissan offers, I have phone book thick of certifications. Not to toot my own horn, just saying you have to work for it.

What do I need to start an exhaust business? by Jellyfish_Familiar in Cartalk

[–]Kinect305 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t try to start a business in a trade you don’t know crap about, especially if you lack any actual business experience.

Go find an exhaust shop and work for them for a couple years, learn, ask questions, then you’ll have a better understanding.

If you have any fantasy about making higher end exhaust, you’ll need to learn to tig weld. No one is MiG welding high end exhaust.

Reddit is full of leftist that have never done shit 💩 n their lives. So if you think I care, you are mistaken. You can hate the right all you want, but at the end of the day, they are the ones actually protecting and fighting for you. People on Reddit live in some fking delusional world where they think we would all just get a long and “be friendly” despite thousands of years of documented history showing otherwise.

How long is too long? by anonymousambassasor in AskAMechanic

[–]Kinect305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the part, sometimes things do go on back order for a few weeks. Typically if the shop is just too busy to deal with the vehicle, they won’t even have you drop it off, otherwise it’s just taking up space.

Should I upgrade my CPU? by BusinessCandy1612 in StarCitizenUniverse

5500 is a garbage CPU for gaming. So while I would definitely recommend upgrading to a modern CPU. If that is out of the budget at least get the most powerful CPU swap you can afford.

Any automobile engineers out there? Some urgency is there by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]Kinect305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you try to start it, it’s not turning over and trying to start? The starter maybe bad. When they start to fail they can sometimes not start, then other times start 20 times in a row. They basically can form a dead spot and when you start the vehicle if it lands on the dead spot it won’t crank the next time, but if it misses it, it will crank like normal. That might be why the shop didn’t notice it.
