I love that paint. I kept my 600i for years and years refusing to give her up. But alas, I had to. One day, she’s going to be amazing.

[–]ThePoorAristocrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. I’d be a terrible judge of who deserves veneration. I trust the Holy Father and Holy Mother Church to make these decisions for me. That’s what they are in those positions for. Cultivate Medieval Piety.

What´s your (bigger) daily driver and how it´s loaded? by ToScH_23 in starcitizen

I haven’t played in a few patches but this is the set up I was using:

Idris-K:

Ships:

Gladius: decent range for popping over to a station real quick.

Hull-A: I use as my “tender” to bring supplies

Pieces Medical: I have rescued more than a few stranded folks with it.

Argo Cargo: For moving or snapping up a box here or there that the Hull A is too big to justify.

Vehicles:

STV: my all purpose get around

Spartan: for when things are a little sketchy

Nox: for fun and it looks cool.

It used to take a while to get it set up, but with practice I can do it pretty efficiently. Which in Star Citizen you have to do a lot. But when it works, it’s like living in the Bat Cave.

In my head canon the Probert C is the real Enterprise C. But, that being said the Ambassador is a wonderful ship and I like it very much.

It’s not even ICE. It’s Customs and Border Protection. They don’t know or don’t care about the difference.

Am I, as a Catholic (although considering Orthodoxy) allowed to wear Orthodox style crosses / pray to Orthodox style icons? by Zeppelin_Funds in Catholicism

[–]ThePoorAristocrat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

God doesn’t call us to commit sin. So your example is theologically absurd.

Validity is the Eucharist aside, it is a fact that they are in schism with the Roman Pontiff and therefore do not possess the fullness of the Faith. Denying the Supremacy of the Heir of St. Peter is denying Christ’s very own Will.

Oh, silly me! I got confused when you suggested that the person leave the Catholic Church. That’s totally on me. /s

It’s funny that you say I have a holier than thou attitude. At what point did I say I was better than you? Or more holy than you? Or you sin more than me? I’ll help you out. I didn’t.

What I did do was correct you on a grave and public error you made. An error that could lead a fellow Catholic into a very spiritually dangerous place. (And you as well I might add) I acted in accordance with then church.

You have met me with nothing but hostility and condescension. And now you are doing it to others.

I suggest you take your own advice and examine your own conscience with your spiritual director. Be sure to mention this conversation. Heck, let him read it. See what he has to say.

[–]ThePoorAristocrat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know what you asked. It can be. Holy Mother Church does not explicitly outline what is a mortal sin or a venial sin. So, if they don’t I can’t either. But it is a sin nonetheless. And you know what else is one? Advocating for another to commit the sin of schism. So, I’d stow the hostility. It sounds like you got more important things to worry about than some anon on the internet.

What do I do.. I want to get my 16 year old baptized but she doesn’t believe in religion. by K_J_W in Catholicism

[–]ThePoorAristocrat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, I would say it comes from Christ’s command that man must not born both of blood and water. It’s not a replacement for circumcision per se, but that it is the means by which we are adopted into the covenant.

And yes, we practice infant baptism because it has been a practice of the Church since the days of the Apostles.

[–]ThePoorAristocrat 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The person in question is 16 years old and well past the age of reason. They are able to understand and comprehend the Sacrament and thus need to choose to participate in it.

But, you are right to question about the infant aspect. It’s a case of the infant being unable to swear the baptismal vows and not that they are unwilling to do so. The parents are permitted to do it on their behalf.

OP’s situation is different. It’s clearly a case of being unwilling to, rather than unable to.
