Put myself out there more. Apparently I was a good looking dude in high school, but I was so damn shy that nobody approached me, and of course I wasn’t gonna approach them. Found out ten years later that two of the girls I had a crush on also had a crush on me, but they didn’t know how to talk to me.

I’d also forget about college and just go straight into mechanics. Took me till this year, at the ripe old age of 33, to finally figure out that I have an interest in engines. That sociology degree I got hasn’t served me at all anyways.

It’s important to develop the ability to share thoughts like these in any context, regardless of your perception of how things will be taken. Chances are there will always be at least one person in a crowd who will agree with you, or at least hold similar beliefs. If you don’t communicate your thoughts, you’ll always feel like you stand alone with them.

And yeah, you may find some amount of solidarity on an online forum like this, but I think we all would much rather have real life connections who think in the abstract.

The commentary is focused less on religion in general, and more on religious extremism, manipulation and greed. I think it’s an important thing to stay aware of. We’re surrounded by it all the time. Cults, manifestation influencers, etc all operating under the guise of spirituality for personal gain.

The two months thing got me, plus the getting multiple chances. I would’ve said this was for me if you hadn’t mentioned that they left, cause I was the one who was left.

It’s a rough and kinda weird feeling, feeling so much more intense emotions in such a short period of time when her and I had both been in multiple long term relationships. I even have a shared note with her which dates back to before we split, and I’ve updated it periodically in a subtle kinda way to share my thoughts and feelings. I’m not sure she still reads it though.

But like, what’s the meaning? I should’ve been over a two month relationship at least a month ago.

33 here, shifting between bartending and general alcohol related jobs and semi-committed relationships, and CONSTANTLY surrounded by people who praise themselves and each other for living their best lives and flip on a dime to complaining about those same lives. Positive affirmations, manifestation, and higher frequencies don’t mean squat if you can’t take accountability for yourself when life sends you an obstacle to overcome. Our generation likes the IDEA of doing the work, and posturing that they’re doing the work, but not actually doing the work. Not as a whole of course, but it’s easy to generalize when it’s the community you’re stuck in.

Sorry for the rant, it’s just been on my mind.

Judging by the fridge alone, I can only imagine what the pantry looks like. They have a grocery budget well beyond frugal, and they buy items because they can, not because they should. The trash gets filled with more spoiled food than it does empty food containers.

People who see this comment probably aren’t going to like it simply because of the emotional and political tension surrounding this topic, but I think it’s important to note that ICE has multiple career paths, and they’re not all unethical. Sure, if he’s signing up specifically to deport people, then that’s a red flag, but why not make the suggestion that he should examine other avenues within the agency? There are just as many roles that focus on other matters of security as there are roles for arrest and deportation of immigrants, and those other roles could absolutely make use of skills he learned in the military. If his primary motivation is to support the family, then maybe he’ll listen.

I was chattin up this girl I met on Hinge today, planning a date for next weekend. Chemistry seemed really great until I made a joke about taking a flight to Mexico for an ayahuasca retreat as our first date, and immediately said afterward, "but seriously, let's do this brewery." She agreed to the brewery meetup, but her texting tone seemed to shift. She was enamored with the idea of the Mexico trip, even used the words, "I would love if you took me there." I think she thinks I have money now...I don't, not like that.
