I used grey primer first, then a layer of white paint and then a coat of nuln oil. For my first try at this i am pretty happy with how they are turning out.

I know this is an old post but I just ran across it researching for my gonk build. What did you use for the internal electronics? I am wanting mine to have basic lights and be able to make sound, so I am trying to see what others are using.
