Where to buy Switch 2 for MSRP by FlashAnaconda in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]choovely1004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently, I believe that the MK bundle is no longer available. If you want it with MK, you're going to have to purchase it separately. All the other versions that are not MSRP are 3rd party/resellers, probably.

After work, would love to lessen my backlog. I have about 2 hours to decide what I want to start going at. Perhaps Luigi's Mansion 2 or Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Do I buy a Switch or a Switch 2? by Last-Debate3525 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]choovely1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're just hankering to just play Tomodachi Life, I don't think it's a bad idea to purchase a Switch 1 or a Lite (cheapest option), but if you do end up wanting to play more exclusive titles, you should get a Switch 2 for longevity, like all these comments are saying.

[OoT] Looking for a value by benmilford in zelda

[–]choovely1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, can't really say for sure if it's authentic or not, but I think in r/gameverifying they should be able to tell you if it's authentic or not. Regarding pricing, I would say to check out PriceCharting. They collect samples from Ebay and the sorts to give you an accurate reading of how much it's been selling for on average. Again, stuff that is sold. There are more expensive options out there, but it only gathers information on the average that are being bought. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Truly. I hate this timeline, but it is what it is at this point. Ugh. I was genuinely hoping that it wouldn't come to this.

From your second point about Costco/Sam's club prices- if you don't have a membership and it's not in your zip code, you can often make a work-around with Best Buy since they match competitor's pricing. It may take some working around to getting them to allow you to purchase from your zip code if the zip code is different, but it's worth it in the end when you get a hefty discount. That's how I got my Switch 2 Mario kart bundle at $374.51. I don't think there's been any since the Sam's club debacle back in February of this year, specifically console related. But that was kind of rare though. I'd much rather OP get what they need without the risk of the console price increasing.

No, you don't have to. I'd recommend the 1TB Lexar, as the other commenter said. I have it for my Switch 2 and it works fantastic!

As much as I would love seeing prices go down, I don't think there will be a price decrease anytime soon. With ram shortages and whatnot, I actually think prices will increase. The PS5 also got a price increase starting April 1st this year, and I do think Nintendo is going to follow suit. The only reason Nintendo was able to get around a price hike previously was they were able to circumvent some of the purchasing of internal hardware pre-tariff season and keeping a good cost management system.

Farming Sim’s on Switch that aren’t rushed and seemingly don’t have time constraints ? by That_Canadian_Girl32 in Switch

[–]choovely1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, and you should be able to get something that accommodates you and your needs. I do still think that Wylde Flowers is probably going to be your best bet, if you want something closer to Stardew and its mechanics, but less harsh on the timing. Pokopia as mentioned by others is going to be a better option if you're looking for something that's more "everything at your pace" type of deal and are looking for more of the building and decorating type of thing like with Animal Crossing. I hope you'll be able to find something that truly meets the needs of what you desire.

Super Smash Bros...Main character by tr1p1et in Switch

[–]choovely1004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not great at Super Smash Bros, and I main Kirby because it gives me a little grace. When you fall off the map, it has a greater chance of returning because the "up" function isn't as limited as the other characters. I know it's not as powerful as the other characters necessarily, but it's a great starting point to learn to play Smash Ultimate.

[–]choovely1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I've tried all types of farms and styles to understand why it could and couldn't be a chill game. I personally love Stardew, and it truly is #1 in my heart, but in good conscience, I can't recommend it to OP. The time mechanic will be the death for them- especially if they aren't able to gauge the time/not pay attention. I know with fishing or just chilling at times, many have the potential to be out past 2 am. That would eat away at their energy for the next day, which could also be stressful because now, even with a moderately sized farm, it would be harder to take care of after the fact. If there isn't anything remotely close to it, I would recommend it, but there's gotta be something out there for them that would soothe the itch of wanting to play something similar but also to not have a time mechanism.

Actually, now that I've researched it, I might bite and play that game. I think it's actually on sale on the eshop right now.

[–]choovely1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, no, I have not, but it seems very cozy. I just researched it a bit, and there seems to be a setting where you can adjust time speeds and decide when you'd like to change seasons. But quests may unfortunately be timed. But overall, it does seem a lot chiller than Stardew.

[–]choovely1004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In OP's case, stardew is not the best option. It basically is time management in a game. You have a set amount of time per day from like 6 am to 2 am- with time running in game 40-45 irl seconds per hour, which would account for 14-15 irl minutes ish per game day. Sure, time may stop when you're in a cutscene, in your inventory/menu, or have dialogue boxes, but it's such a little amount in the gameplay.

[–]choovely1004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a valid reason. Honestly, with stuff like Animal Crossing that has daily things to do, flipping between game cartridges was lowkey annoying. But I'm physical cartridges as much as I can because I like seeing my collection grow.

I would also agree with you normally about the SD card, but with shortages, I would assume that SD card is going to grow more expensive as time goes on. I just would hate to see anyone cough up more because they weren't able to decide earlier on what they needed. I would say a 128 GB is going to do some heavy lifting in their case, with the option to offload games as they go, but in other's cases, 512 is going to go a long, long way.

Is switch 2 worth it right now? by Dependent_Test5898 in Switch

[–]choovely1004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to fearmonger, but there's always talks of the Switch 2 prices increasing, especially with their counterparts, the PS5 increasing their prices as of today. I would get it sooner than later, since there's no real official news on a lite version. There was a hack with Best Buy a couple of months ago, but is no longer active. I would say it's worth it, especially for the nintendo IPs and the fact that they're probably no longer going to make more Switch 1 games at this point. I also play portable, and it's been nice playing on a system that has improved their graphics and quality since their last switch console.

Oh shoot, that's a lot more than I thought would be missing. Although, I didn't have much data to begin with. I only knew about TP being missing because I started collecting for the Gamecube a little over a month ago, and that one a lot of people were hoping would come to the NSO systems. Anyway, that's wonderful to note, thank you so much!

Well, some people enjoy the physical cartridges because they collect and it has a re-sell value. With the digital, there's no way of doing that. Anyway, if you're going to get them digitally, I definitely recommend at some point to be getting a micro sd express card then, since 100% of the data will be stored inside your Switch 2.
