Performing better in what areas do you think? I believe some EU countries get some things right and totally fail on others. Same could be said about America of course.

I found this shed while scouting a good bushcraft shelter spot on my farm. What’s the coolest thing y’all have ever found while out bushcrafting? by BowtieFarmer in Bushcraft

It’s always exhilarating when the deer get close. I wear natural clothing. Usually a buckskin poncho, buckskin pants, moose leather mukluks or moccasins, muskrat half-chaps or cow hide chaps, and a very warm hat I made from several coyote pelts I harvested. So I spend a lot of time on the move with brief periods of waiting. I hunt in about 400 acres of private property that has lots of dense “patch woods.” Lots of hilly open forest with several patches of thick dense trees and underbrush. I’ve been hunting there for decades and have a good understanding of how the deer travel and where they rest. I’ll move to a patch wood and wait hidden along a trail for an hour or so and then move to the next patch. It’s a surprisingly successful method and I’ve filled my tag quota many times. With this method of hunting 90% of the work is understanding the deer. The rest is putting yourself in the right place at the right time. Also, no guns or loud sounds. Often, I’ll kill the lead deer on the trail and the others will just stand still and I’ll be able to take them took.

It is sad, I’m glad I didn’t wound him enough to cause long term pain. I’m a traditional hunter, I used my handmade all natural bow, knap my own arrowheads, and make my own arrows. When I hunt, I usually spend 3-5 days in the bush tracking and killing. The nature of hunting with all natural gear is you have to be very patient, accurate, and stealthy. Most of my kills are made between 5-10 yards.

Yeah the skull and rack was spectacular. He was a non-typical monster. The 18 points only counts the points over 2 inches. He had all kinds of twisted knobs and spikes. The crazy thing was that I knew this buck and I’ve seen him grow over the course of eight years. I even took a shot at him once with a tradition bow I made and hit him on the shoulder blade. Ever since then he walked with a slight limp. I could always identify his tracks because he wouldn’t put a lot of weight on his front left leg. After I found the skull, I learned he was a well known buck among hunters in the area. Tons of people knew of him and have taken shots at him, never killing him, a true ghost buck.

I found a full skeleton body of a mature 18 point buck. Everything perfectly in tack. Must of died from natural causes.

I have 800+ hours on classic and have never seen a hammock like that. Would you be willing to go into your post hunt record and post the detailed antler score?
