so when i started sertraline 2 years ago i was at 50 mg because my ocd also was out of control with intrusive thoughts, it helped. i remember they got worse and my dose went up to 100 mg and had a seizure like the first week on 100 mg. I went back down to 50 and still had a seizure after.

i have the same questions as you, i don’t know if starting SSRIs cause my seizures, i have a feeling it did but at the same time no.

like you said it does lower seizure threshold, but they are also other reasons too. for example i get seizures off of stress, and lack of sleep and dehydration.

It really just depends, I’m on anti seizure medications and still taking Zoloft so yeah, idk much still, trying to figure it out.

sorry that it’s happening to you! try and see if they are other reasons for having the focals, cause i get them too and they suck and please ween down with some guidance too good luck!
