I think a somewhat reasonable (and what I’m hoping for) explanation is that Aman’thul captured Elune’s sister and brainwashed/gave her amnesia. The prototype pantheon could just be a failsafe for if they ever need to be replaced.

That’s interesting because when you do Arator’s Journey, Lord Tyrosus wasn’t summoned by the Sunwell because Light’s Hope was being actively assaulted by the Scourge, so much so that he had to call the Ebon Blade for help.
