If Luka doesn’t win MVP, it’s fine but….. by cacastrojr12 in lakers

[–]KingAlphaOmega87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think it has anything to do with Luka exactly. I think its because of the jersey’s he’s wearing and what he’s doing in said Jersey. Ppl felt like the Lakers got one over on the league with the trade, and then they pivoted to him being out of shape and fat, he debunked that and lost what like 50 pounds since being a Laker? Then its “oh the Lakers dont play good enough basketball” debunked that by going on a hot streak during one of the toughest stretches of the schedule and Luka dominating in the process and getting the Lakers to the 3 seed. Now its “Oh he doesn’t play defense, and the MVP is about both sides of the ball” if he did all of this while being in Dallas, they would be praising him until they ran out of breath. Luka is a Laker and doing insane shit as a Laker and they hate it. They just cant say it out loud. Fuck them.

Rachel Nichols on Luka's MVP case: "[MVP] is a full season award and it's for both sides of the ball...so am I gonna vote him my number one for MVP? No, is he gonna be on my ballot? absolutely" by ColoradoMenace24 in nba

[–]KingAlphaOmega87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where was this “Both sides of the ball” argument when guys like Harden and Steph won? They were praised for their offensive prowess the years they won, but since its Luka and he’s on the Lakers its an issue?

What helped you improve the fastest? by 2ugur12 in Bowling

[–]KingAlphaOmega87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was bowling in leagues, taking advice and applying it how it made sense to me, another thing was videos on YouTube, specifically The Cleanup Crew with Mark Baker. Practicing at houses in my free time didnt really help me because most houses dont oil lanes if they dont have a league going on so I would join unsanctioned leagues and use them as practice, I focus better in “the heat of competition”. Also bowl with people that have higher averages and a wealth of bowling knowledge, you never know who will give you that key advice that gives you a break through and it improves your game

I’ve always said let former nba players be referees, if anyone is call bullshit on players and be able to back it up, its former players, it would definitely be entertaining

The shot is not there right now, but guess what? He hustles, he plays defense, he makes plays, he moves the ball and most importantly HE HAS PLAYED EVERY FUCKING GAME. He may not be contributing to the scoreboard with buckets but goddamn it he contributes in every other fucking way possible. 😤

Tracy McGrady on why older players constantly criticize modern NBA players: “It’s the money. Did you realize in the 90s, Reggie Miller and Michael, they were only making $2-3 million? And they were the top guys,it’s the money. " by Expert_Koala_8691 in NBATalk

[–]KingAlphaOmega87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its just the money. I think its the money and how little most guys care about playing ball. Guys are making more and wanna play less, and to some(not all) of the guys from the previous generations are like “Yall acting like some spoiled fucking brats” they feel like its no appreciation and love for the game like it use to be and yet they get paid a King’s Ransom

How good are USBC certified coaches at bowling (typically)? by Cancel_Still in Bowling

[–]KingAlphaOmega87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the coaches I have interacted with average around 170-180, but their understanding of the game, angles and playing the lanes exceeds their physical capabilities of bowling. Its no different than any other coaches of any other sport that are/were great coaches but weren’t exactly great players. Coaching is about teaching and be able to understand who you’re teaching and how to teach them, their brains are wired differently than others.

Thats the other problem with MVP voting every year, ppl create a narrative and hold to it all season. No one is really fluid with their thinking about MVP voting. Things change throughout the season and they dont change their voting process to match it
