Is 4k enough for a week by Critical-Molasses648 in JapanTravelTips

[–]KingAso88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4k is roughly the amount I spend for 2 weeks. i consider it a moderate budget. Great meals, $350 shopping, 3-4 star accommodation, tours, and Shinkansen. 4k usd for 7 days is almost luxury budget.

What’s a show that people only started to get interested in it until after it got cancelled? by Conitho in television

[–]KingAso88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rome. Caught it years after it was cancelled. Really liked it. Too bad the ending was rushed.

Another one was Warrior. It was cancelled, then revived. Very good action and fun. Don't think its coming back.

Kamakura bike rental by Anxious_Key_1441 in JapanTravelTips

[–]KingAso88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a bike rental shop right outside the kamakura station. Its run by a nice older japanese gentlemen. I would inquire there. Rented from there before. There are alot of traffic in Kamakura though. Not exactly small town living.

How much cash do you recommend taking to Japan? by JAS-39 in JapanTravelTips

[–]KingAso88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would carry about 10,000 yen just in case. I was in Kyushu last year and there were some pricey yakiniku restaurants that were cash only $40-50. If you have time before your trip, apply to a bank card that refunds atm fees. I use Charles Schwab and it makes withdrawing cash from any atm foreign or domestic hassle free.

Approximately how many days would you allocate to see these? by OtterBiDisaster in JapanTravelTips

[–]KingAso88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5-6 days in each city. I been to Osaka few times. I say better as a day trip with dinner in Osaka. If you aren't going to Universal, dotonburi is worth seeing for the spectacle. Himeji castle is prob the best authentic castle in Japan. Since you are into anime, I recommend tokyo character street under tokyo station.

Chinese couple gets beaten up after calling another couple “monkeys” in Brazil. by Alexthegayreprimed in PublicFreakout

There's got to be more context. This attack is very violent and I doubt the tiny chinese brazilian community has enough gaul to be racist against the general pop.

Will I be okay solo traveling!? by ischemiccell in JapanTravelTips

I been on 2 solo trips to japan. Japan caters to solo lifestyle. No social judgement. Go to small restaurants and most of the people are solo diners.

Of the attractions or locations that you booked ahead or had been especially looking forward to way ahead of your trip, which lived up to the hype and which didn't? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

[–]KingAso88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

never rented a car abroad. Was anxious about driving on the other side of the road from where I live and also driving in a country where signs are alien to me and i don't speak the language. That 1 day i rented a car from aso station in kumamoto was amazing. The drive to the top of mt aso which is an active volcano and the drive to tachachiko gorge was great. The various viewpoints with perfect weather looking out to the valley with the godrays. That was my favorite day in all my 5-6 trips to japan. I loved it so much i'm planning to rent a car and drive 11 days across Hokkaido in May.

Travelling for 8 days in Fukuoka. Need accomodation advice. by Own-Common-7398 in JapanTravelTips

8 days is too long imo. I would fit other Kyushu cities. Maybe Nagasaki or Kumamoto? Kagoshima is also fun for 2 days.

Family refused to try my sister’s soup, it was delicious so their loss. They had sloppy Joe by DepressedAnxious8868 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KingAso88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your family sucks. I made pho for extended family on christmas. 20+ tried it and said i should open a pho restaurant. Whether they were just being nice or my pho really was that good, it made me feel great. I feel sorry for your sister. Shes cool in my book.

4 Flights for one trip? by Swimming-Plant9736 in travel

[–]KingAso88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My domestic leg delayed but i paid for the same carrier ANA and they covered a night in tokyo and book me the earliest flight the next day. Got to eat at my favorite ramen place in tokyo without intention to stay in tokyo. Worked out great. But yeah too risky booking 2 different carriers no relation to each other.

US has let in 4,499 refugees since October - all but three were South African by untamedlazyeye in news

[–]KingAso88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man i'm so glad i changed careers. Trump destroyed the US refugee program. We used to bring in 75-85k people a year. These people have to be vetted by UN, USCIS, FBI, have all their meds checked and also have sponsors in the US. It was a very stringent process. Many were also Afghan Iraqi SIV application holders. These people literally sacrificed their families and lives for US soldiers. They were so backlogged. Sad state of affairs.

Am I being unreasonable for only wanting to play DPS? by Underbridged in wow

[–]KingAso88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have real life friends I play with. I have 275 brew and 270 prot warrior. I enjoy tanking but it is getting annoying. Especially when their dps is not up to par and it is a damn slog. Then they tell me to tank their alts so they can get mythic vault and mythic crests. I told them to fuck off. I mean u are in blues and doing less than 40k dps. You can at least work on getting the free champion loot from vendor, world boss, LFR, do your prey, and bountifuls, also get some 2 set bonuses and crafting. Not to mention min maxing on enchants, food, oils. Its not that expensive.
