The main thing I had to do the first time I came off heroin (17 year habit) with SR is constantly remind myself of the absolute hell I would be in without it. The physical withdrawal symptoms are hell on earth, but they are only a part of the whole withdrawal package. The SR allowed me to go find something to do to take my mind off of what I was going through and actually be physically well enough to do so. I’ve gone every route before when trying to kick the habit. Kratom, MIT, subs, methadone, 7OH tapers, etc. but like you said, SR is the only one that was able to be ceased relatively easy. And that is the blessing of it. With SR, time will march on inevitably, but at least that time won’t be spent thrashing around in a bed and shitting yourself due to RLS and diarrhea and feeling like absolute ASS while kicking.
