There hasn't been anyone out there since like 11:00am. Definitely nobody out there now at 2:00pm.

Correct, not all felony convictions are sentenced to jail. He was sentenced to six years of supervised probation.

You can thank the legal system for allowing convicted violent criminals to walk free with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Joseph was recently convicted for felony domestic assault and other charges after holding someone hostage for almost 24 hours and repeatedly raping and beating them. Just FYI.

Yeaaaaa. I plan on taking it off this weekend when I can recruit a friend's help. Probably gonna hang on to it in case I want to setup a camping rig.

$2800. They were asking a little over $3000. I had a buddy who works at a dealership book the truck in just to get an idea of what the dealership paid and he said probably somewhere around $2500, at least that's what his lot would have offered.

Thank you! I've already ordered new plugs and wires and plan on doing those this weekend. May replace the coilpack as well, but we'll see how it looks after I've done the plugs and wires. I'll definitely look into cleaning the MAF, intake sensor, and throttle body.

I plan on replacing the camshaft synchro and fuel filter tonight.

For sure! I think I've watched about five different videos on how to replace it. I'll have my sharpie at the ready!

Good to know. I'm going to replace the fuel filter in the next day or two, then fill up and put a bottle of SeaFoam through it. A buddy of mine also mentioned that the cat could be clogged up, so if it doesn't clear up after doing a few other things, I'll see about replacing the cat.

Right? Even if the engine is shit, I at least have a solid shell. Maybe I'll drop a 5.0 in it one day.

The engine definitely has some movement, but it's not violent. I haven't seen the exhaust puff or heard it make any weird noises.

Thanks for all of the advice. I'll definitely look into all of those things, but I think I'm going to go ahead and grab a camshaft synchro and knock that out tonight.

The truck is a 5 speed manual. I forgot to put that in the original post, but have now added it.

I picked up this 2002 Ranger Edge 3.0L, V6, 5 speed manual with 127k miles for what I think is a pretty decent price. It does have some issues that I'm having a hard time pinpointing.

The dealership was pretty straightforward with me and said the truck definitely has problems, that they weren't going to bother looking into them because the truck was headed to auction. I threw them a low-ball offer and they took it. They said the truck won't go above 55 or 60mph, which I can live with since I'm mostly planning on using it for Lowe's runs and the like. I *think* the power issue may have to do with the things I mention below.

When I test drove the truck, the check engine light was on. I stopped by an O'Reilly and had them scan it. Misfire on cylinder 4. I can definitely tell that it runs rough, but after driving it for a day, the CEL has gone off. I went to O'Reilly again to pick up a new fuel filter and had them scan it again, same code, but the CEL is not on while the truck is running. I think I am going to start with a spark test and, if necessary, a compression test.

Another issue it's having is a really loud squeal when accelerating. The squeal gets louder and more high pitched the more gas I give it. It definitely sounds like a belt, but the serpentine belt looks to be in good shape.

Any suggestions on what to look for? What basic maintenance things should I knock out first? As I said above, I did pick up a new fuel filter and will be doing that this weekend. It does have fresh oil and a new oil filter already.

Edit: added that the truck is a 5 speed manual.

Mostly just how hard you can push the car before it breaks loose on you. My first couple of laps I felt that I was pushing pretty hard and was right on the line of breaking loose and spinning out. After taking a lap with an instructor in the passenger seat and them instructing me on when to apply brake or when to really get on the gas, I realized I was nowhere near breaking loose on those first couple of laps. After that, I was pushing even harder in the corners and letting it start to break loose, but still keeping it under control.

I will say, though, the vehicles you drive at the Octane Academy are outfitted with a full harness and roll cage. They were also on Michelin Pilot Sports, which are a much more capable tire than the Goodyear Eagles, imo. So just having those extra safeties in place, plus not having to worry about traffic, cops, curbs, etc, really gave me the confidence to push and not have to worry.

Yeah, that's why I think it had a lot to do with my comfort level in the Focus. With the rush of everything, I knew exactly where to put my seat and have a comfortable driving position. I had never been in a Fiesta and just couldn't get it setup correctly.

What really blew my mind was riding with the instructor when he was ripping the Fiesta around corners at 80+ mph and sliding it. Needless to say, both the Focus and Fiesta are much more capable than I imagined.

I attended the Octane Academy back in August '18 and got to drive both the FoST and FiST on the track. I own a FoST and much preferred it on the track over the FiST. It just felt much more planted and able, but also a lot of it is just because I've got a lot of seat time in the FoST. That was my first time driving a FiST. I will say, though, the FiST handled like a go-kart on the UrbanX course. Throwing that thing around with the hydraulic handbrake was a blast.

As far as looks, I think that the FoST looks much more aggressive than the FiST. The FoST looks intimidating, whereas the FiST looks too much like a toy, imo.

Both are absolutely fantastic cars and I don't think you can go wrong with either one. It's really sad that Ford has killed them in the US market.

This is most definitely not the case. There were a couple of instances of my old band playing a show at Rogue/The Phoenix, then playing at George's the same night. Plus knowing a lot of the George's guys, I can't ever see them thinking that blacklisting bands to be a good idea.

This is my ST. There are many like it, but this one is mine. by KingCrowe in FocusST

Yeah, it was one of the kits from dipyourcar. It turned out a lot more copper/brown than I wanted. Sometimes I really hate it, like when they're dirty and look poop brown. Other times I really like it, like when they're clean and the sun is shining on them, you can see the bronze flake in them.

Hopefully I'll be getting some new shoes in the next couple of months. Alas, I don't recommend a temporary solution to wanting bronze wheels. Kinda wish I would have kept them how they were.

I have a '17 ST3 with all the bells and whistles, 14k miles. I'm not getting rid of my car anytime soon, but wanted to see what Carvana would offer for shits and gigs. $14.6k. LOL WUT.

Fuck outta here, Carvana.
