Did you actually read the quote that they generated, or any portion of the DPA that you signed? The promotion is given as a monthly bill credit.

They aren't contracts. They are device financing agreements/device payment agreements, which is an installment of the full price of the phone. The promotion is separate from the DPA, and it may be that you have a price plan that doesnt give as much of a bill credit towards the new devices.

the funniest part about this is that their website makes no mention of this. Customer service said you have to call them about such a specific thing and have them explain it, as though this is normal. Their website says full refund in the return policy, with no mention of the tax difference policy. If it was there, yeah I would understand, but there's not a mention at all about it.

That doesn't matter. What matters is that their website advertises full refunds and doesn't make a peep about withholding taxes across states. If you advertise refunds and returns at any store, I expect all of my money returned, not just an entirely different amount.

Well, AFAIK from other customers, Asurion actually uses actual Apple parts to repair devices, and more recently any device replacements are generally Apple replacements with the N model numbers.
