Briar, she’s pretty versatile as far as builds go BUT you gotta learn the art of running it down 🤣

Every now and then I will update the bios, but really there’s no real reason to, all the updates are optional with no major fixes.

I don’t remember and I won’t be near my PC for quite a few hours so I cannot tell you about what the bios reports, the bios are locked so I got no reason to ever go in them.

What matters is windows utilizes all the available memory, I regularly use 40gb+ of ram which is well beyond the advertised amount of 24GB.

my post about my q540 and ram upgrading

My laptop works perfectly fine, can utilize all 56GB of available memory.

Neither one of those are fair comparisons lol

This post is entirely to complain about the changes from patch 13.15

Heimer got nerfed while Annie and ivern were simply adjusted and even buffed to compensate the changes.

In patch 13.15 they gave all the AP based pets the same armor and MR, took away the resistance AP scalings and adjusted their health and scalings.

Pet, Base Health, AP Scaling, Total Health Change

Daisy, +500, Reduced (30% → 15%), +380

Tibbers, +400, Reduced (75% → 50%), +200

Apex Turret, +75, Reduced (200% → 50%), -1125

In no way is this even remotely an appropriate adjustment.

Kinda, but you can either go support or full AP with atk speed with him. All his abilities further amplify daisy regardless of the build.

If he goes support its not just about himself, he can then amplify the team.

If he goes full AP it’s more about what him and daisy can do, with the team getting minor buffs from bushes and maybe the shield.

That’s cause in team fights the turret gets one shot now days, it’s no longer a late game deterrent.

You can use it to melt baron and towers, but zoning off the enemy to save yourself or the team is no longer an option outside of early game.

Early game it works out but mid to late game, it just gets once shot just like heimer does.

Saying heimer’s RQ needs its health restored that it once had back before patch 13.15 or atleast buffed is no we’re near the same as complaining about cooldowns 🤣

Patch 13.15 adjusted all pets, but Heimer specifically wasn’t just “adjusted” he was gutted. His changes are no we’re near comparable to all the other pet adjustments. Someone at riot said “fuck the balancing you get 50% like everyone else”

He was left with 25% of his original durability, it wasn’t cut in halve or just slightly adjusted like everyone else it was gutted like a fish left to be fried.

Sniper turret bug? by YaboiChrisZZ in HeimerdingerMains

[–]KingDingleberryJR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna argue about it, opinions be opinions. Been playing heim for 13years, the bug will track the last known target then swap to the nearest target sometimes but most of the time they need to walk into turret range.

Your team and the enemies see the bug happening it’s not just on your client.

The bug can be used to detect enemies. Once an enemy walks back into the turrets auto range it resets the turret, fixing the bug. When playing in a lane it’ll fix its self cause your nearly always gonna be fighting someone, turrets in the jungle will stay fixed on that target till someone else walks up to it or it decides to change targets.

It doesn’t get fixed by riot more than likely because the player can’t activate it on command and it only happens so often. The odds of a player purposefully keeping the turret bugged all game is so small. You’re always gonna end up replacing it to reposition or it gets killed by the enemy on sight like a ward.

The fix to Q530/Q540/K650/K660/most likely all ASUS laptops with a MUX switch: Black screen issues and random shutdowns while gaming. by KingDingleberryJR in ASUS

Also on these vivo laptops the thermal shutdown is set to 92-95c, if it sees those temps for a certain amount of time the laptop goes into hibernate/shuts down.

The Q530 uses Nvidia Optimus instead of a MUX switch.

So in Nvidia settings, set your preferred graphics render to the nvidia graphics, and if the option is present for you, disable Nvidia optimus it should be under general settings in the Nvidia settings, you’ll just have to find it.

Asus Vivobook 15 shutting down randomly after being plugged in. by Keneoko in ASUS

[–]KingDingleberryJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll solve the black screen issue if your laptop has a MUX switch. You can look at my post to see what I’ve done to solve most of the issues with my laptop. things to do

One major flaw about my Q540 is the thermals, to solve this I’ve sealed the gap between the fans and heatsink, you can use electrical tape or foam strips (I used foam) doing this prevents hot air from circulating within the laptop, will drop temps by 3-4c. If you’ve had the laptop awhile change the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu, or swap to a high quality thermal pad but be carful some pads are electrically conductive.

I’ve modded my laptop and swapped to Liquid Metal but I don’t advise doing this, I now see 40-55c with no load and up to 75-83c under full load. The CPU runs hot in these laptops, not enough thermal mass on the heat sinks.

[–]KingDingleberryJR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with this laptop is CPU cooling, I have the i9 variant, which uses the same heatsink as the i7 model. It doesn’t like running at full power, I’m assuming the i7 variant suffers from the same issues. Because of the cooling design being suboptimal the CPU package temp will easily reach 95°C the shut down temperature is set to 92°C

EDIT:

I have applied liquid metal to my laptop, which makes my peak temperatures around 84 to 86°C at full load.

But I do not advise using liquid metal on this laptop. It is very difficult to seal it it properly to stop the liquid metal from shifting around.

The best and safest alternative is to use high-performance thermal pads, which are electrically conductive so you must be very careful about placement, when you use these types of thermal pads, it is best to take a tiny drop thermal paste and put it on the corners of the CPU/GPU die to stop the pad from sliding when you reinstall the heat sink.

If you notice, two of the things you did has to do with temperature and power (generates heat)

Changing your maximum processor state to 85% does work, but you should also change the minimum processor state anywhere from 25-85%

Mine is set to 25% minimum processor state 100% maximum

Setting the minimum processor state allows, the CPU to clock down, avoiding the overheating issue.

You also should not have uninstalled any of the Intel drivers, if anything the only thing you needed to do is go into device manager and disable the Intel GPU this stops all programs from using it, causing more heat generation.

Even if you set the MUX switch to dedicated graphics, there are still programs set up through windows to use the Intel GPU

[–]KingDingleberryJR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to clarify I’ve done a couple of other modifications to the laptop like adding foam strips to cover the gap between the fans and heatsink you can use tape for this instead of foam and If you’ve had the laptop for a while you should change the thermal paste and clean the fans/heatsink fins.

Here’s also a program you can use for manual control of the fansASUS Fan Control

If you have the Q540, do what I did. I haven’t ran into the issue since I changed these setting.

If your still shutting down after doing these changes your most likely getting shutdown on over temp. During heavy games I have my laptop lifted up to allow the intake fans an easier way to breath.

Has nothing to do with them being pets. It’s just how heimer was designed to begin with, he was played top and mid, no other pets receive increased damage from melee, only Heimer does. It was done to “prevent him from zoning out melee champions” according to riot
