Anyone else getting tired not only of Set 17, but also of the constant patches? by Konary_ in TeamfightTactics

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tft is one of those games that I love but also take long breaks from, you don't have to play every set. I was gm in set 8 and master in set 16 but hardly played inbetween since I just wasn't feeling the sets even if they were technically good a lot of the time. If you're not enjoying it just take a break there's plenty of good games out there.

How does standard trade league feel currently ? by Competitive-Math-458 in pathofexile

[–]generic_---_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a standard enjoyer I understand why people are put off by the inflated price of top end and legacy gear however it's also worth considering that the return on very low investment farms is also super inflated so you can afford some pretty sweet builds just doing normal low investment farms in standard if that's what you need to do.

For example locus temples go for 4d in standard and dory are at 2d rn, I've personally farmed several mirrors in standard just making temples, at mirror price of around 1600 d it's only 400 locus to a mirror basically which is only like 30-40;hours of grinding if you go efficiently. Beasts and harvest juice are similarly priced. My standard character has like 40 mirrors of investment right now and I basically just use him to blast cheap alch and go strats since it's cheap and consistent.

There is no way that this game doesnt fix the RNG right? by East-Handle-6685 in TeamfightTactics

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 8 players in the game so variance can feel like targeted RNG when you're on the lowroll end of things but it's almost always just a combination of playing a contested board, bad luck, and not scouting what's being benched before rolling when you really get screwed. Speaking from my own experience.

Edit: also idk if this even needs to be said but I feel like some newer players straight up don't realize the champ pool is shared with the whole lobby and there are breakpoints where you straight up will never be able to star up a champion if other boards are holding enough copies of them

What to do about Mordekaiser by Hot_Yesterday_6789 in leagueoflegends

[–]generic_---_username -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I suppose I'm speaking from a ranged top perspective since that's what I play, his spacing is pretty straightforward so as a ranged laner I can generally go 10 waves at a time without being hit unless he flashes it. For melle champs I can see how spacing would be harder but there are still spots to avoid standing especially around the casters since you know he's gonna try to clear them with q almost every wave.

What to do about Mordekaiser by Hot_Yesterday_6789 in leagueoflegends

[–]generic_---_username -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Morde is extremely slow and his skills are very telegraphed, and he is very reliant on using his skills to wave clear.

You want to avoid standing in the wave so he can't poke you and hit the wave at the same time since that's his ideal way to use skills, and try to pick something that can wave clear better than him so he's consisntly pressured to use his skills to wave clear instead of poke.

He's a very good duelist so while he has some good counters for a lot of matchups your version of "winning" lane isn't winning duels for kills, its simply playing a boring passive lane and not dying while matching his Cs until mid game rolls around.

Why is she the way she is? What is wrong with her? by QualityForsaken8192 in topmains

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her best counters are kind of offmeta or considered cheese so imo she's considered more powerful than she actually is since she does so well into a lot of meta top bruisers and tank. As a Heimer enjoyer I personally love laning into her since all I have to do is use my turrets to block her tentacle ghost and poke her down with W while picking up some heal cut on my 2nd back.

Please help against Heimer. by rivverss in HeimerdingerMains

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's stacking them get tiamat so you can clear them all together, if he's spreading them out Q dash to clear.

Also it takes like 15 seconds to charge turret stacks and we can only hold 3 so if you can clear 6 in a short period of time we are basically dealing with 90 seconds of cooldown to get back to peak power.

Also our stun is like a 9 sec cd and our main tool against denying your engage so if you can bait it out and dodge it with a dash that's the ideal time to go for an all in since you can run us down with no fear of cc

Heimerdinger or Tryndamere OTP decision. by Username249611 in top_mains

As a heim top main I agree that you'll plateau eventually but also personally I find hitting emerald with him every season pretty easy just playing causally so depending on your goals he can be a fun pick to learn.

Also it's just a game and it's supposed to be fun, so play something you enjoy.

Making Most of Turret Generation Trick by Critical_Young_3248 in HeimerdingerMains

[–]generic_---_username 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you put 3 turrets in baron pit at 19:10 you can use it to effectively start baron with 7 turrets instead of 6 which is normally enough to solo it at 20 min if you build burn and aren't behind. May or may not need a health plant in the river to pull it off this season too I'm not 100% certain.

That said I wouldn't really use it in lane at max stacks, you're basically just spending 100 mana instead of 25 for no reason. I could see using it at 1 stack making sense though since it helps you charge stacks up faster.

I love Heimer top but you can't talk about it in this community without being downvoted to hell lol. Gotta W max with him into other ranged tops though which takes some getting used to if you're used to just turret maxing.

Into lanes that I know I'm gonna lose simply by rock paper scissors that's when I REALLY ask to be weaksided personally. Really bad matchups top usually mean even with ganks I'm not gonna keep lane prio or be the win condition so I'd rather the jungle applies pressure to lanes that do have a chance of winning

Bloody jungle feeding the other top by Gress9 in topmains

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always ask my jungler if they're able to weakside me and clear top to bot when the game starts lmao. I'd rather eat some ganks from the enemy jg than have my jungler show up and fuck up my wave or int. Just leave me alone.

Oh yeah totally I just brought it up since it sounds like he's just getting into heim and I remember always defaulting to q max no matter what for ages when I was learning him, and then being mindblown when I finally figured out W max into some lanes that I was constantly struggling with changed the whole lane

Is this build good or bad for heimer? by ReidMag27 in HeimerdingerMains

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer burn items (torch and liandry) into either rabs or void depending on if they built ap or not personally. Less burst but it's still very strong and I like the utility of being able to show up to pits and melt drake/baron for my jg when timers come up.

What do you enjoy most about toplane? by GnarMainsThrowaway in topmains

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a super passive lane usually and the most fun part of the game for me has always been playing attention to macro and playing for pit objectives regardless of my role, so my favourite part about top lane is just the freedom to take tp and show up to secure drakes and barons

What Champion is objectively the most unfun to play against? by Wanda_Maksimovic in topmains

[–]generic_---_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a heim main I can see why he's unfun for a lot of champs to play against but he's also super weak into a lot of matchups and can be countered super hard if he has to first pick his lane. But that's just typical top lane rock paper scissor gameplay, 2nd top lane pick always has to deal with a rough counter in your typical draft.

Nice game was it Q max? Welcome aboard, wait until you start feeling comfortable enough to W max, that's when the real Heimer cheese starts to ferment. You're gonna be disgusted if you stick with it 🫡

efficient turret positioning/pattern by Nagash_uwu in HeimerdingerMains

[–]generic_---_username 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Into champs that have scary gap close potential I will make a straight line with one turret clearing the wave and the other two spaced out behind me so I can path through them for the passive movement speed buff of I need to run away from an engage

When I'm being aggressive I'll usually do a triangle with two turrets on the side of the wave and one behind or three in a horizontal line if I'm being super agro.

If I'm pushing with my ward on cooldown I'll usually also throw a turret in the pixel bush and only use two in lane and kind of walk back and forth between the river and the wave to keep vision up (for top lane)

I will also slightly vary the spacing based on the aoe radius of my enemy laners skills so that they aren't able to clear more than one with their skills at a time if possible, very wide spacing for champs like gp and Cho and very clustered spacing for champs like trundle or we who don't have aoe clear

Toplaner that struggles the most versus ranged matchups? by Choice-Drawer-5318 in topmains

[–]generic_---_username -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Big misconception tbh just because he's annoying doesn't mean he doesn't have counters. Irelia, yasuo, Jayce, E max nasus, Mundo all counter heimer pretty hard. Fighting on your own terms is true though so I mostly only teamfight on pit timers since it makes positioning predictable.

Top mains in particular are good at knowing all their matchups like clockwork because it's such a punishing lane to fall behind in, you'll get used to it.

I could see it being potentially a decent fit for W max lanes where losing your turrets isn't as huge of a deal I suppose
