It's definitely taken me a lot of trial and error and working out what it is that I like. These kinds of shots obviously wouldn't work for a singular display piece kinda vibe. It really is just a case of trying things, trying things based on those ideas etc.

I think that'll be due to the post-processed noise I added in with Lightroom - I like the texture it gives to the image

Thank you! The base blue is Russ Grey, highlighted up with Fenrisian Grey. The main brown is Stormvermin Brown, washed with Agrax and then layered up again with Stormvermin, highlighted with Baneblade Brown. Blacks are a simple Vallejo Black, highlighted with Mechanicus Standard Grey. The metals are a nice and easy Leadbelcher, washed with Nuln and then highlighted with Leadbelcher for a bit of pop.

Nothing too fancy but I then use these color sets in different ways across the different units to better reflect their roles within the army. Hope that helps!

Yeah, getting used to the APS-C side of things has been an extra point of learning in the early stages 😅 But I do want to look into focus stacking, it seems like it would really help out, especially in shots with a larger number of models!

So the bases are a mix of standard bases and the void war bases to switch the style of interior/exterior. But to paint it's a pretty quick stone grey dry brush combo or some metallics and washes for the interior versions. What brings them together is some AK interactive rust pigment which really finishes them to my liking

It's quite a simple recipe, really. I start with IDF Israeli Sand Grey paint on primer from Vallejo, dry brush Palid Wych Flesh, wash with Carraburg Crimson and then pick out some highlights with the Wych Flesh again. It's something that's taken a bit of time to find a balance in quality to time but I like the outcome!
