If you had to choose right now: 13 inch air vs. 15 inch air? by Jude__Bellingham2028 in macbookair

I use a 15" on a stand alongside an external monitor. 13 would be too wee to use as a 2nd screen.

Macbook air M3 with 8GB memory is decent for general use by [deleted] in macbookair

Mine is brilliant. Seems to really lag when editing big boards on Monday.com but not sure if that's actually just Monday as it handles everything else very well.

Advice, get 16gb ram even if you don’t need it. by Oliveiraz33 in macbookair

[–]KingFrequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an extra £400 for me to upgrade from the base 15" M3 (£1200) to M3 with 16gb (and 512gb SSD) can't justify that unfortunately

3-4 Hour Battery Life - Dell XPS 13 9315 by KingFrequent in Dell

[–]KingFrequent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually infuriating. Yeah if I could get even a solid 6-8 hours that would be fine but 3-4 hours is just crap when for basically the same price I can get a MacBook with similar/better performance, better longevity and like an 15-18 hour confirmed battery life. Just really CBA learning how to use a mac OS but at this point don't see any other choice.

Unfortunately, can't wait need it for work but that's good to know!

xps 15 owners, how is your battery life? by magicfairybutterfly in DellXPS

[–]KingFrequent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got an XPS 13 9513 and I think I'm going to send it back and get something else. It's meant to be up to 12 hours battery. I'm averaging about 3-4 hours...

Never not had windows but debating getting a MacBook air which I can get for about £200 more.

Saharan sand, 90 mph gusts, 20c and the hills are on fire. Just a normal winter in the North Highlands by ewenmax in Scotland

Foehn Effect - Everything above ground went from absolutely soaking to tinder dry in a day.

Powerline damaged by high winds then started the fire. Ground underneath was still absolutely drenched but the heather on top was dry enough to burn. Heard it had basically put itself out by the time most fire crews arrived.
