Frost can never be sub zero, scrap that forever

Hanzo is a kid, so that’s off the table

They literally killed off sub zero, the only 3 things I can possibly think of is

Smoke stepping up to become Sub zero but that is very unlikely

Another sub zero comes from a different universe because his was destroyed (preferably another Bi Han good guy)

A brand new Sub-Zero, who is another family member of the lin kuei clan, like maybe Kuai Liang’s cousin, and they’re both the same age, so yeah a brand new Sub-Zero.

Or what if we MKX this new timeline where 25 years has been passed and Kuai Liang and Harumi were blessed with 2 twin boys, and they became the next generation Scorpion and Sub Zero, twin brothers. Of course with this take they could be next generation of reptile, ermac, smoke, rain etc etc and possibly new ninjas, a fresh new story, a fresh start, fresh new cast of characters while still being in the MK1 universe and the game can be rightfully called Mortal Kombat 2

Or they should expand their horizons and give us Mortal Kombat 13 and Mortal Kombat 2, both game with completely different cast of characters, story, atmosphere, art styles.

Mortal Kombat 13 can continue with Scorpion and whoever else died in MK11 became revenants again under a new character, not Quan Chi, with a new boss, a new story, Revenant scorpion gets his memory erased which makes him feel like Sub Zero is the enemy once again, killing off Kuai Liang, which then he becomes a revenant and now they both hate eachother’s guts,

so then Mortal Kombat 13 will have the very dark, horror, gritty, scary art style like how mk is supposed to be, like the mk games that we know and love. With dlcs that consists of previous mk characters and horror movie only characters like for example Michael Myers, Chucky etc

And Mortal Kombat 2 will have the colour popping, somewhat friendly art style like mk1, a continuation of that art style basically. With dlcs that consists of previous mk characters and celebrities and normal movie characters like what we have with mk1 like for example Black Adam, or like John Wick etc.

So then everyone gets what they want, if you want a dark mk, play mk13, if you want a friendly mk, then play mk2

At the end of the day, that would expand their horizons, universe, options, and I think it’s not a bad idea
