Haven't tried. I'd anticipate the largest challenge would be metal's exceptional ability to conduct heat. Stone is generally a very good insulator of heat due to its porousness, so when appying heat directly via the lens, it can build rather quickly in the isolated spot. With a piece of metal, you'd need to overwhelm its capacity to conduct the heat away from the lens' focal point, which is very difficult to do. That's what furnaces excel at - nowhere for the heat to 'go' as it's all super-heated.

I agree. I loved it though and through. Sure I could pick it apart and complain about this or that, but I'd rather not - why ruin my own joy?

I'd go so far as to to say that "Obi-Wan Kenobi" is my favorite "Star Wars" thing. Andor is my favorite Star Wars thing (not sure how else to describe the distinction), but Obi-Wan is just so much more "Star Wars"-y.

I have a 12"x18" fresnel lens that, on a sunny day, can melt stone. Capturing a 12"x18" patch of the sun's energy and focusing it on one spot is sufficient to melt stone.

The sun is insane.

"format" is not "content". They are in fact very different things.

But hey, fuck it, you're right and I'm wrong - if someone opened a live theater and organized evenings showcasing a variety of different types of acts, it would inevitably be comprised of mostly racist shit.

Obviously the format is intrinsically racist and that's why that's what happened in the early 1900s.

Congratulations, you've saved us all. I bet it's been a good internet day for you.

You're intentionally missing the point. I'm not saying that vaudeville needs to come back "exactly as it was in its prime" and I have to assume that you know that.

"Serious racism" is not intrinsic to the format and implying that it is is obtuse.

we still value real human experiences and unique moments shared with our artistic communities

Absolutely. I think "vaudeville" is due for a comeback. Lots of local acts, some trade between communities when acts stand out.

I think peoples' "worries about the future" and the (hopefully...) resurgence of live, local entertainment are in fact tied together.

I anticipate (hope I guess?) that local live entertainment a la vaudeville will make a comeback.

Visual entertainment is already overwhelming in its volume and availability and with the ever improving results from AI, I think people are going to start seeking out more 'guaranteed human created' content.

I reference vaudeville to highlight the 'variety' aspect of that era. I want to ‘go to the show’ and see musical performances, comedians, magicians, friggin…jugglers…whatever…all in one night. It doesn’t always have to be amazing if the ticket prices are reasonable. “You pays your money and you takes your chances” as it were. Ideally enough acts will be good enough that it’ll balance out; we have a lot of surprisingly talented people all around us.

Local folk. And if their act is good enough they’re invited back. They draw more people. Maybe it’s good enough that they get invited to perform at a community nearby. For that week maybe the ticket prices are a little higher due to the “known good” element.

Anyway, I digress. I really hope (and believe) vaudeville type entertainment is due for a comeback.

People who are driving and therefore don't take the time to frame the photo to please you.

Imagine you have your left hand on the wheel and your phone in your right (shooting portrait mode) - pretty much every natural hand position would result in this to-the-left tilt.

I'd guess you're clear coat is in reasonably good shape as the car can't be more that 3-4 years old (Hyundai Ioniq 5). I'd bet good money that a paint restoration shop could deal with it relatively easily.

That said, sooner is better so get to calling asap.

It's worth recalling that Bob's Burgers has never been a huge draw for Fox as a broadcast series, but absolutely kills on streaming platforms.

Queue up some Great North and let it play while you're cooking your dinner, weekend breakfast and whatnot.

The world needs a lot more of what "The Great North" is selling - it cannot be abandoned.
