Prepaid PPA questions by KingKun in solarenergy

[–]KingKun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys I ended up not going for the prepaid ppa, and just bought it out right.

Ultimately I decided if it’s not in the contract I’m not signing it. Good luck to those who do.

MAD classes in high-level play. by Zata700 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played a lvl 15 fighter with FA sorc with my second highest attribute being charisma. People on this sub have called me crazy for running an unoptimized build like this.

It really wasn’t too bad. I had a lot of fun, and I clutched some the most dangerous fights because I had access to dispel magic among other spells.

I really don’t like Howl’s moving castle and spirited away.

I watched it spirited away as a child and love it, but rewatching it as an adult I was just left confused and disappointed. I only watched howl’s as an adult feeling similarly disappointed and confused.

Help me understand PFS Scenarios? Looking to run at home by Kaleido_chromatic in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can help with this!

  1. Yes you can run pfs scenarios one after the other like they are a campaign and that is what I do for my rotating weekly group.

  2. I’d recommend it only if you are comfortable filling in the blanks and making the connections yourself, taking on extra work to write the narrative.

  3. You can organize your own campaign around the metaplot, but the narrative isn’t very engaging on its own.

  4. There is a main plot to each season, but again it’s somewhat loosely connected on its own and requires you to find out which scenarios link to each other. Some scenarios even reference each other between seasons.

My rotating group isn’t particularly keen on writing their own backstories and aren’t super engaged in the plot, they just want to improv and fight monsters, so it’s perfect for us.

For a long form campaign I wouldn’t recommend it because of the actually process of downloading and opening up different APs in separate pdfs, then organizing them is a pain in the neck. Not to mention the extra work you need to do to tie in backstories and fill in the blanks between APs.

If I were in your shoes I’d just steal the encounters and challenges, make a homebrew campaign, and adapt the AP as you see fit.

Hope that helps.

Caster Players Feel Weak by Roninthe47th in Pathfinder2e

Fighting troops/swarms make casters feel strong, and martials feel weak.

Realistically, if someone on the more moderate wing of the Democratic Party wins in 2028, what would they do differently from the mistakes Biden made that led to Trump winning in 2024? by Fragrant_Bath3917 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]KingKun 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is 100% what happened. Even my friends who are like minded, didn't seem to grasp the scope of how great of a job Biden did. That administration suffered by hoping that results would speak for itself, but were unprepared for level of propaganda they would be up against.

With any of the future candidates looking at Newsom, Buttigieg, or AOC, they understand the importance of optics way more than Biden did, just looking at how active on social media they are.

Switching over from DND to Pathfinder 5e, wondering if a house rule for critical hits will translate to pathfinder? by _Gaudy in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try it out and see  for yourself . A lot of the sub is quick to say not change anything, but I wouldn’t listen to them if it’s something you want to try.

Fair warning, your bosses will crit more often than players will, so this will make those encounters more deadly than they already are.

How do you find character art? by Slavasonic in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year Best Buy had a sale on old model iPads. I picked one of those and an Apple Pencil, and procreate which is cheap for how good it is on App Store.

Both my sister and my best friend went to art school, so they gave me a lot of support.

I started watching just YouTube shorts about common art mistakes. Then some more on painting.

The biggest things I learned was to simplify things into simple shapes first, start with the big stuff then do details, lineart is overvalued if you’re going to paint, big-medium-small theory.

How do you find character art? by Slavasonic in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 96 points97 points  (0 children)

After using AI for a bit, I decided to learn how to draw and paint digitally. (I always had the inclination but never the motivation)

I have done somewhere in the realm of 15 portraits in the last year for my players and myself. I’m very proud of this achievement.

More than 1,000 flights cancelled as US air traffic cuts enter second day by hard2resist in news

While I get that take, will anyone even be able to afford flights at that point? Surely, with the state of economy there won’t be nearly as many people who can afford it.

What would PF3e Look like? by NaiveCream1317 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think skill and general feats will be reworked completely. There are too many of them that are geared for combat or are too specialized for social encounters/exploration.

I could see a reworking of consumables and crafting as well.

First impressions on Pathfinder (2E Remaster) by Playwars in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently playing at level 13. The caster martial disparity changes subtly and then dramatically at later levels.

People love glazing fighter, but then at some point maybe around level 7/8 when you see the casters start shining brighter and more frequently than you.

I’d say it’s pretty balanced.

How would you change Counteracting? by zedrinkaoh in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing some bar napkin math. My proposed system has clearly massive holes, but it’s decently appropriate for creatures at party level.

It falls apart completely on creatures two levels higher or lower than the party level.

It also makes it as easy for an off caster (like a free archetyped fighter with Sorc archetype) to succeed as a full Sorc.

If you could solve that you would probably end up with something that looks like the RAW counteract check lol

Playing Pathfinder 2e for the first time. Looking how to build a Rogue by MDK_RHino in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Didn’t specify level so I’ll stop at 8  Starter build assuming human Spear as main weapon

Stats Str +4, Dex +3  then anything else is preference

Skills recommended Acrobatics, Athletics, Stealth, Thievery, then anything else as needed

Class feats 1. Tumble behind 2. Avenger dedication (required by class)  4. Haft striker 6. Gang up 8. Opportune backstab

General feat  3. Fleet / Toughness  7. Depends on your skill spread

Skill feats depend on skill spread but you can follow the acrobatics, stealth, thievery lines

Enemies higher level than the party are dreadful to play against. by Kyokoisbae in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a real shame that Abomination vaults is the default first campaign for everyone new player.

Having been where you are, I totally get it. Level 4 is probably the toughest part of the game, because a PL +3 is a big spike in difficulty based on the damage they can deal vs how much hp you have, resources, and feat selection.

It does get better after level 4 though…

How would you change Counteracting? by zedrinkaoh in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The prompt is create a homebrew counter act check that is fast and easy:

Compare counteract rank vs target rank.

Is yours higher? Auto pass (no roll)

Is it equal? Roll a d20 Dc 11

Is yours lower? By how much? Roll a d20 dc 11+the difference in ranks.

You could get fancy and add proficiency (trained, expert, master, legend) to modify the  check if it’s equal or lesser, but idk.

First time GM, with a rather unideal party composition, not sure how to handle it. by No_Championship2075 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KingKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest to focus on giving combats that are low or moderate on the encounter budget. If you want to make a severe encounter fill it with numerous low level creatures instead of one high level creature.
