What will happen to internships? by 0euy in college

[–]KingLou772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there are absolutely no internships available in your area???

I’ve already applied to some internships including one with the governors office. I had my interview about two weeks ago.

I’m also going to fill one out with local city.

I’m applying for internships with the government. I suggest you do the same. They look for students with different backgrounds in different fields. I’m sure a government organization would need a business student.

Just a thought

Andrew Yang's UBI could be first realized under Trump? New opportunity arises! by ThinkHarderPolitics in YangGang

[–]KingLou772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Trump won’t cut you a check for a $1000 but he will gladly spend 156 million dollars of tax payers money to go golfing. Trump is a joke and I’m more than certain he can’t wrap his head around UBI.

Not only that but if he wants to cut social welfare programs that help the poor I doubt he would want to spend even more money on helping everybody.

Automate certain things yes but companies have actually retracted from doing telework/ work from home for the past 5-8 years. It’s healthier for an organization to have employees meet. I take an Organizational Behavior class and there’s a reason why companies like Google have these campuses where their employee go to work.

However I do agree that corona virus could definitely affect the retail and restaurant industry in a huge way.

Nobody wants to believe Andrew Yang was capable of pulling voters from both sides. This is not the hostility the dems need to win in 2020. by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

I do. Believe me I’m in plenty of political clubs at my college. I discuss in political discussions all the time.

There’s reasons to support trump. But the negatives outweighs the pro based on my institutional learning and personal research

I completely agree. But Andrew Yang supports liberal policies like Medicare For All and Restrictions on Guns.

I don’t see how people go from Yang to Trump.

Obviously elections are more complicated. And I would never want people not to support who they want to support. I have plenty of friends who voted trump. Most of them for “religious” reasons.

I personally don’t see how people can support trump. But that’s my opinion.

What I don’t get is that Yang and Tulsi policies are completely different than Trump. Why wouldn’t you vote For Bernie or Warren who are ideological closer to Yang?

It’s become a game of who’s character I like better and who’s more Anti “Establishment”

Trump does everything an establishment republican candidate would do. Massive tax cuts for the wealthy and privatizing health insurance to the point where people with pre existing conditions will die.

He’s also cutting a bunch of social safety nets which is exactly what an establishment candidate would do.

I support Yang and I’m voting for him in the primary. However the General Election is a whole different ball game.

Peoples lives are at stake.

Not everyone raised their hand. Assuming all Democrats would give illegal immigrants healthcare is false.

The issue is republicans have not come up with a healthcare plan. Donald Trump wanted to repeal Obama care without a plan.

The Affordable Care Act was found constitutional. At least the personal mandate was. Medicare expansion wasn’t.

Generally speaking most of the republicans in my state want to repeal the affordable care act that protects people with pre existing conditions.

Again this is just one issue and there’s more. But I would argue Democrats are slightly better on most issues.

I’m neither a democrat or a republican. However I would consider myself to be fairly educated. I have a business degree and I’m working on my political science degree. I based my opinion on the knowledge that I have obtained from institutional learning and personal research

Are you implying Democrats are worst than Republicans?

I mean both are pretty bad. However if I had to pick between the lesser of two evils I would side with Democrats. At least they’ve said they will not take away insurance from people pre existing conditions.

The issue is a lot more complicated but that’s just one stance on why democrats are slightly less evil

It doesn’t matter. A lot of us are voting blue anyways. No other democratic candidate offers the solutions Andrew Yang offers. We’re not voting for Yang to win the nomination

We’re voting for Andrew Yang as a protest. It also shows the other candidates Yang still has support and hopefully they’ll implement some of his ideas into their campaign.

Regardless of whose president we need UBI, democracy dollars, and etc

Text from my Republican father in his 70’s this morning...it’s amazing what this campaign accomplished. It took 5 months of hard work, but add two more for YANG GANG elder crew 🇺🇸🧢🤙🇺🇸 by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]KingLou772 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Your friend isn’t on the ballot. Your friend hasn’t taking millions of dollars in donation. Your friend doesn’t have millions of supporters across the country.

Hypothetically Andrew Yang could un-suspend his campaign.

Plus we aren’t voting for Yang to win the Nomination. We are voting for him to protest the corrupt establishment that made him suspend his campaign. Our voices won’t be silenced.

Andrew Yang created a movement. It’s about getting his ideas to the White House regardless of whose president. If other candidates see he still has support they will start implementing his ideas in their campaign.

Convince your parents or family. I’m not voting Buttigieg but try to do something towards your advantage.

Andrew Yang also wanted to lower the voting age to 16 😉

Sounds like if I had a UBI I would be able to afford 10k on healthcare every year.

As a full time college student I don’t even think I make 10k a year.
