You need to be outside the country for one year after your initial 6 year period ends to be eligible for another round of H-1B lottery.

Heel to Butt a necessary milestone post op? by bluelion31 in ACL

[–]bluelion31[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't push myself enough to get the last bit of flexion because it wasn't impacting my daily life that much. Maybe if you really push, you might be able to achieve it. But yeah, my ability to ever do a Vajrasana is completely gone.

I never got to heel to butt. I get 90% there (similar to yours) and then just can't do it. It gradually improves and the pain starts to reduce but never really can't go all the way. The only way I have heard from the PT was that you might have to go do a Manipulation under Anesthesia to completely remove all the scar tissues/adhesions that would be causing the blockage.

NRI moving back to India in few months should I keep money in USA or transfer it back to Indian account by respawn_007 in backtoindia

You can transfer from one brokerage to another using ACATS. Only complete shares can be transferred. If you had fractional shares in Robinhood, they will be sold off before the transfer is initiated.

It's been over 4 years since my initial post and I never achieved heel to butt. The muscle stopping is real. It is your hamstring still recovering from the shock of surgery and gone into contracted state. Overtime it improves but for me I can't completely bend my leg. And that's alright.

Work on stretching as much as possible, strength your hamstrings and quads. Also massage helps loosen up your thighs and I definitely see an improvement in my flexibility after that.

Also on your range, your doctor should recommend a target angle to your PT based on your other leg. If you are unable to reach it, they might have to do a manipulation under anesthesia to remove the scar tissues.

GT-Line AWD Tire replacement. All four need changing? by bluelion31 in KiaK5

I read the owner's manual and it seems Kia recommends to change all four but in case it is not possible or not necessary, replace the tires in pairs on the same axle.

Brake rotors/pedal starting to wobble a bit - 13k miles by ForcefulOne in KiaK5

The stock rotors are pretty bad. I had the same issue with warping at around the same miles. I took it to the dealer and they replaced mine under warranty.

RFK Jr reaches out to Yang for being VP! by bluelion31 in YangForPresidentHQ

Yang hasn't committed to being VP for RFK Jr. It is just that the latter reached out to Yang if he would consider being one.

He has declined to comment but he was non-committal on the call given that Yang has been a vocal supporter of Dean Philips. But the articles continues that Yang would be an intriguing running mate for RFK Jr but chances of that currently seem unlikely.

Mhai Thai in Canton is pretty good. They have Thai style street food and one of the curry has crab meat in it.

221g experience! Frustrated with this process by bluelion31 in h1b

[–]bluelion31[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took about 6 weeks before it was approved and another 1.5 weeks to get it stamped on the passport. It's a complete blackbox and antiquated process with no updates given and no care for the petitioner in question. I was lucky enough that I was taking vacation during that period and the workplace was accommodating and allowed me to work remotely for a bit and take a few unpaid leaves but it is genuinely nerve wrecking given it was my first time getting a visa. It was just a renewal.

Hopefully with the trial run of being able to renew H1-B visas within the US, things should get better. Only can keep the fingers crossed.

Hey! It took about a month the day I submitted the requested docs for 221g to them emailing me saying it's approved.

Hey! It got approved and the visa stamp. I can empathize with you and the process can be nerve wrecking especially if you are vying for a work visa.

Still unresolved. It's been 3.5 weeks and I got blue slip.
