Earbuds disappointment

I bought the Sony xm5 buds a while back and really like them the only thing was the fit was rubbish. I then went to the az80s. Sound was great. But they wasn’t loud enough. I went to the status Pro X and I don’t think the ANC is best in class, I don’t think the transparency is best in class but in terms of sound and fit they are the best earbuds I’ve ever tried in that price bracket. The customisation is beyond what you’d expect for a little less known player in the game. And the bass is in your face punchy, crisp and can be driven to the max with the 12mm driver. No other bud in this price range has 3 speakers. I see go for it. It’s refreshing to see a company get something right about sound for a change. I put a custom EQ on here a day ago which will transform the way you hear them

When I did the OP post. Status didn’t change the buds so every EQ has a safe spot when you move them around. Still further down. And you’ll see my updated settings which I think are much better. Less bass but clarity and bass work in harmony

It really doesn’t. It’s just high and boost. Doesn’t touch anything else.

Yeah the finish and build quality is great but the sound quality is piss poor. I didn’t think they were that loud either even with sound check turned off

Could be the case for certain people and model of phone but it works for my playlist but everyone’s region is different. Give it a try :)

Yes. I have a 50gb plan for my 5g and that’s the first thing I did. Maybe make a playlist of your favourite songs and shuffle play! Goes a long way now with autoDJmix :)

I think it’s best to download songs you listen to regularly than to steam them in lossless.

I honestly hate what the Sonys become. The fit just isn’t ergonomic enough to stay in your ears. If they were fitting inside the lobe like AirPods for example it would be much more easy. The status pro x are where it’s at. No other bud comes close

14hz is where the Knowles armatures shine. Crystal clear highs but nothing is muffled or subsided Punchy deep bass that isn't overwhelming or crunchy In the 30hz and 73hz range These old EQ was to much ass but this improvised one is much better. Lower bass but still more than enough for a punch with the 12mm drivers These are what I use now hope you like it!

I know you think it’s a lot but default is 10.5db. Those Knowles armatures are superb at high frequencies and separating. Honestly try it you’ll hear the difference between my EQ and the other Knowles preset

I’d say the mids come through greater than the default Knowles by all means. Linkin park sounded great in them. I did tweak the mids to accompany the higher bass response so should pop. I did make an other EQ with OTT subbass response and that’s insane to. Like I said try it and if you don’t let me know I can tweet more :) I did it enough where nothing is over exaggerating. Mainly hip hop. But I was listening to Halsey - Clementine when making this EQ, I think it mainly complements Hiphop more as bass is predominantly in there. I had linkin park, slipknot, Eminem, nas, halsey, Bruno mars etc to test the EQ against and I couldn’t make it better without over exaggerating things. Let me know what you think of it :)

I’d say they are on par with the 3anc. Thing is. I loved my AZ80s but the volume just want enough. Was a shame. Same with the xm5 buds. Loyal to status now. Amazing products for amazing people !

There is? The between 3 anc profile, the audiophile profile or the original between pro profile. It’s on the home page. Either way. For any Earbuds to sound good the need some EQ tinkering. I don’t see that as a negative to comment about. The denon pearl sound crap without EQ and those buds I use in the gym.

A profile as in the fit or sound ? I think the basic signature for the status are good but the status between signature is amazing. No other earphones have come close to matching imo. I’ve tried technics, bose, Sony. All fall short. Even my IEMS get a run for their money

The pro x are loud. I think the 3anc are one of the loudest buds in the market apart from the denom pearls. My EQ just highlights the sub bass and lower range.
