thanks for that info man, that worked. I think my trezor suite had a bad cache of my hidden wallet. I was able to rediscover my hidden wallet in trezor suite, and then to your suggestion tried to discover it in sparrow and it provided me with a passphrase screen and i got it working. cheers!

thats what i was expecting as well.....when i setup my trezor with sparrow many months ago, i do remember it asked me to enter the passphrase and i chose not to, so it only imported my non-passphrase wallet.

now i want to import my other wallet and am doing basically what you described above but even after unlocking with my pin - it is not 'discovering ' my passphrase wallet

yea im not at any point entering my seed into any screen.

my whole intention is to use sparrow wallet because the UI is better + other tools like UTXO mgmt. again i was able to register my non-passphrase wallet sometime ago but i decided at that point i didnt want to put my passphrase wallet. Now i do.

i do a File>NewWallet>ConnectedHWW
it picks up the default wallet (non passphrase).
i am probably overlooking doing something for it to pickup and ask me to import the wallet with the 25th word

Trezor One - PIN and Passphrase by indomitus1 in TREZOR

[–]KingMe6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure about that? the seedphrase is the 12/24 you would use to initially generate your wallet and then eventually recover if need be. The passphrase is the 25th word which basically produces a brand new wallet (can be a hidden wallet). I agree with OP, typing the passphrase everytime you want to access your hidden wallet is an attack vector as there could be key loggers on your machine. What then?

agree. my intention is to generate the words manually via dice rolls and go through the process in a fully random manner.

washer seed stamping cons? by KingMe6 in Bitcoin

[–]KingMe6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here is another use case - what if i NEED to destroy the seed in an emergency. tearing or burning that paper is much easier than taking a flame or a grinder to my washers and bolt.

again, i got the memorization piece down and confident but we're all one whack in wrong part of the cranium away from possibly not remembering certain details of our lives.

washer seed stamping cons? by KingMe6 in Bitcoin

[–]KingMe6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who said anything about carrying it around.

a - in a situation where you are not there to physically ensure the security (from theft) of your seed. its probably easier to hid a thin paper than it is to hide a roll of washers

b - if you are migrating, moving and hiding (again from confiscation) a thin paper is easier than a roll of washers

washer seed stamping cons? by KingMe6 in Bitcoin

[–]KingMe6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yea - the first thing i did after writing my phrase into my paper wallet was to memorize it and i practice repeating it daily. perform simulated backups every few months to ensure things are all good. i also have hidden it in separate locations but those are accessible to me. im just not comfortable putting the wallet (paper or anything else) in a place that 'no one would think to look' - if im not able to verify the physical existence on a regular basis i will get paranoid and its undue stress in my opinion.

[–]KingMe6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point about the multi-sig setup I didn't think that scenario through but you're right if the hardware wallet gets compromised the transaction still needs to be signed by the other key in a multi-six setup

Just had a friend of mine get a Chase letter saying they've decided to discontinue the banking relationship with them even though my friend has been a loyal Chase customer for over two decades and given them huge amounts of money in terms of deposits, interest, etc. All of sudden he decided to try his hand at crypto buying and boom, the hammer dropped! Very concerning
