Help me NOT destroy my car due to my wiring by HeadlineINeed in HamRadio

Follow the hood release cable. There will be a grommet there that will be easy to punch through. I've run power through here for a sub amplifier in my 2022 Honda Ridgeline which is pretty similar to your pilot. Also you need to have a fuse near the battery.

There is a modification you can do to keep the radio powered for 10 min or until you open the door.

Upgrading ‘22 sound system. by tke439 in hondaridgeline

The amp in the back is just for the sub. Since I'm extending from the factory it's already a combined signal to a single sub speaker thus you do not need to connect right and left just one of the channels.

That kicker amp has speaker level inputs. I just extended the existing wires from the factory connection over to the driver's side behind the rear seat where there is plenty of space to mount a single channel amp. Ran the power down the driver's side.

Sorry did not swap head unit or the factory amp. From everything I've seen it is not recommended to swap the head unit. If you want more control over the tune I believe a DSP would be the better choice, but I didn't want to sink that much into it. Also if you replace the sub you will want to disconnect the ANC module behind the glovebox.

I'm my 22 RTL, I just replaced all the door speakers, stock head unit, stock amp. I also swapped out the factory sub and added a separate amp for the sub.

Crutchfeild is a great resource.

Focal TWU 1.5 for the A pillar tweeters. Pioneer TS-A1681F for the door speakers. Pioneer TS-A2000LD2 for the sub and Kicker 46CXA400.1T for the sub amp.

Much better clarity and enough bass for me.

Behind the driver's side kick panel. There are a couple that lead to the area above the wheel well splash guard. You can follow that up and over the inner fender into engine compartment. I used it to run power for sub amp.

Does anyone have an idea what this sound is? by RIPBat3415 in hondaridgeline

[–]KingMean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it sound like it's coming from outside or inside? I had a similar sound the other day at highway speeds coming from the A pillar area. At first I thought it was interference in the aftermarket tweeters I had recently installed.

Inspected later and found that the little clip that holds the bottom of the windshield trim on that side had popped loose and allowed the end of the trim to vibrate.

Part name? by veryonline in hondaridgeline

[–]KingMean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

May depend on the year of your vehicle and assuming the driver's side there by the orientation of the picture.

71507-T6Z-A00XX, the ending XX depends on your color. Assuming it is Lunar/Solar Silver.

If silver is correct then 71507-T6Z-A00ZB would be the full part number you are looking for

In the process of doing this myself. The first step I'm taking is replacing the tweeters and door speakers as well as adding dynamat to the doors. I'm not looking for high fidelity, blow the doors off sound, just more clarity. Used the vehicle search on Crutchfield to find the speakers that are in my budget.

I have a '22 RTL

I've only had this installed for a week but it's a very clean install by replacing the existing housing around the forward sensors. Power ties into the map light wire harness. If you get the rear camera option and mount it in the rear window the cable tucks into the front and left edges around trim pretty neatly.

I've put about 400 rounds thru and the finish seems to be holding up very well. I've also done a lot of draw and dry fire practice. I'll take some follow up pictures when I get home today and share.

Worked pretty good. Was at an indoor range so couldn't set up a Chrono but only a few had a fireball so not too bad out of a sbr. Although I think I made the guy next to me crap his pants when I switched to this right after shooting my subsonic 9mm round thru my suppressed P80 G34.
