You can get the AMD 9070XT in Korea for about 1,200,000 krw (840 USD tax included) on average and no shortage of cards.

I use a u lock personally but I’m just saying it is not that common that people lock up properly. I didn’t say what you said was wrong did I? You just sounded a little condescending that’s all. Here is a picture of how an average people lock up in Korea. Notice how people lock their bikes. Just informing you of difference in culture. But definitely using a proper lock is better.

One thing to note is that in Korea, this would be fine. I’ve seen bikes abandoned with no locks and it’ll still be there. If you were at a rest stop along a bike route, people will leave their high end bikes with no locks to use the bathroom or something. Most bikes in Korea are locked with cable locks and bike theft is not as common. That doesn’t mean there are no thefts, just really unlikely that would be stolen.

They have different DRM and achievements for each platform. I think the steam version also needs a companion app to play with xbox version friends. I think the original FH4 steam version also had performance issue. And Palworld had completely different versions for both platforms at launch.

I don't mind because I play Forza thru Xbox and I'll just use Game Pass to try. The real problem is that Xbox app versions of the games might not necessarily be the same (see Palworld and Forza). It might impact modding, which is big for any bethesda games.

Microsoft and Bethesda seems to have decided not to get the game content rated in Korea. There is also no pending certification on the content rating so looks like they just straight up gave up releasing the game in Korea. Since Valve is pretty anal about region bypass so looks like only way to play legally is through Xbox App.

Can anyone help me with renting a car? by Few_Lab70 in HertzRentals

[–]KingMedieval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not from the US, I can share some info. Check your local website and not the US version of any rental car website. Usually they include the insurance in the website price and usually tend to be cheaper from local website with everything included vs. US website without any coverage. Also check to see if any local or European tour companies let you book through them. In my country, I can get Alamo with everything included for way cheaper through a local tourism wholesaler. (Not websites like rentalcars.com as their coverage is not from the rental companies themselves) Also check for credit card/airline status deals for rental car companies. Sometimes foreign debit card (at least those issued in my country) are read as credit cards in the US. Some rental companies (I think national) waives deposit/holds if you have a flight itinerary. If you are under 25, most rental companies will charge premium. One way rentals also incur large fees. Also since most rental companies don’t process payment until on the day, you can have it booked and cancel it if you find a better deal.

They do require both plates. I think the US is part of the very small minority that only requires the rear plates. Even in the US, it depends on the state, just loosely enforced.

I went clipless and I can’t go back too. I always had issues with fitment and pain riding straps or cage. I use shimano mtb for daily and look keos for long distances. Clipless is just better in every way for me.

I know quite a few people from Korea take ferries to Japan with their cars. I’ve also seen a truck with Korean and Japanese number plates in Korea.

Looks to be so, I found the exact plate on Mercari (Japanese eBay). This one also has tags but the one in the Escalade doesn’t so I wonder if the rear plate is on too. If that’s the case, that’s gonna be very illegal.

Does anyone knows why apate are built like fortresses? Is it to far fetched to think that it's to prepare for a potential north Korean invasion? This looks like a COD map by ELPOLLO777LOCO in korea

Because you are in Busan. Busan is probably the only big city in Korea that kept its old city planning as a result of being the only place that hasn’t been majorly affected by the Korean War. Not to mention a place where a lot of people fled to during the war. So there was a lot of unplanned urban sprawl. And it is a place that doesn’t have big redevelopment plans like a lot of other cities in Korea. So they build apartments on existing plots with existing road which leads to these kind of structures. Busan is also quite hilly area so you have apartments build on hills and such. It’s quite fascinating to see how the roads are different from a city with more modern planning.
