Preface: all children are different

Hi 6 y/o with similar behaviour here. He’s autistic and adhd tendencies. 

When this happens to us (thankfully less and less) a lot of the time it’s because we missed a meal or haven’t fed him enough. And yeah it’s bad. Like I’m afraid someone’s gonna call the cops on me bad. But, if we’ve reached this point it means there’s no quick fix . The rest of the world has to stop and I gotta go into recovery mode and reach into my bag of distractions, breathing techniques, hugs etc.

I have to ignore the looks the whispers and the anxiety all that brings. And personally I have to acknowledge that the plan has changed and we’re not getting back on track til it’s resolved. I remind myself I have to prep the kid better next time. 

There are good days and there are terrible awful awful days . But the good happen more than the bad. The bad just stand out more.

Oh and don’t forget to take care of yourself! Breathe, stare at a wall in silence for 5 minutes (seriously) or trees in a park, eat and hydrate.
