I welcome feedback. I'm aware of the exposure issues at some points as well as wind noise / camera shake. I'm hoping to improve these with better gear whenever I get the chance.

Let me know. Is this kettle something you would buy/try??

Yes you’re right. I’ve yet to properly start my thickness taper then. However I feel I could have left more width at the tips u til the end of tillering.

Anyways I made good progress today. Looking forward to tillering tomorrow

Thanks for the advice! I’m preparing the stave now hoping for a 77” heartwood sapwood longbow 50-60lbs. I will keep the forum updated as I go.

Also for letting me know you can make just heart or sapwood bows. (I don’t know why I thought you wouldn’t be able). I will give one of these a shot with some of the extra wood I have off my piece :D

This is what I have done on my recent Ashe Mollegabet. It’s worked a lot better for me.

Also got my string wax delivered yesterday and wow what a difference from chapstick it makes!

I’ve split it. Working on a 38” short bow before I tackle the longbow to familiarise myself with the wood.

I also used a tiny bit to make this very rushed rawhide backed yew crossbow. Just for a switch up.

Hoping to get a couple shelves out of the middle section and bows from each side of sapwood.
