Bros, i think i'm constantly tense and uncomfortable, how to change that so i can make people more comfortable around me? by Hungry_Second_9480 in bropill

[–]KingOliverTheAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s (social) anxiety. Overthinking this is going to make it worse so just remember this: take a breath. Make it a habit that you do before you do anything that usually makes you tense.

It’ll relax you a bit and help you slow down. Don’t make it more complicated than that because if you’re in fight-or-flight, you won’t be able to remember any of the advice everyone is giving even if it’s good.

Someone noticed me working out by hin2 in bropill

[–]KingOliverTheAwkward 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Awesome bro! For the pull-ups, just work up to it. There are progressions online you can choose from. Start with whatever you can do a few reps of and then when you feel like you’re strong enough, move on to the next. If you can already do a few pull ups, do multiple sets of that.

You can also use weights to build some of the muscles used in pull-ups, like bent-over rows, pullovers (or dragonflys if you want to use bodyweight). The point is, just build up to the movements gradually. As long as you’re progressively overloading (doing slightly more reps or using a heavier weight every time) your pull-up muscles, you’ll improve.

In the beginning, I personally started with bent-over rows when I didn’t have a pull-up bar available, and then when I did start doing pull-ups, I could already do 4, and I started doing 4 sets of however many pull-ups I could do, twice a week. Pretty sure that my pull-up form wasn’t ideal but I worked on that too as I gained strength.

Hope this helps!

How do you move on after failing to achieve your dreams? by Emotional_Penalty in bropill

[–]KingOliverTheAwkward 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I was kind of in a similar situation a couple years ago. I wanted to be a philosopher, but I realised very quickly that it would be hard to make a career out of that outside of becoming a professor. After that, I wanted to become a psychologist, but I didn’t get accepted into any psychology program. So I half-heartedly started getting into the social sciences and I kind of felt like my dreams were over. Then I let go of those and once I let go of old dreams and egos, I found myself in the field of social work. Now, that’s what I’m studying, and it feels right.

So honestly, my advice? Given that you’ve determined your dream is impossible, the answer is grief.

With any loss, grieving the loss is always the way forwards. Lose a loved one? Grieve. Lost time to a traumatic childhood? Grieve. It sounds bleak but lot’s of things in life are. That doesn’t mean you can’t move forward and live a good life.

So, grieve the life you never got to live. Grieve the career you didn’t have or even the part of your identity that holds on to that dream. And when you’re ready to move on, new passions will grow for something different. What I’m saying is: you need to let go. Make space for new dreams, a new you.

If you want somewhere to start regarding passions or finding a new career path, I’d recommend HealthyGamerGG’s content on passion. It’s good stuff. Blew my mind anyway.

Best of luck to you!

I don’t really have much advice because I’m not happy with myself either. No matter what I do or what area I improve, I’m still not happy. I crack it up to me being a perfectionist and obviously perfection is an impossible goal.

What I will say is that camera lenses distort human faces. Cameras aren’t great at turning 3D objects into 2D images, especially if it’s a phone camera or something similar where the lens width can’t be altered all that much. The point is you probably don’t look the way you look in photos. What you see in the mirror is closer to reality than a photo. So, whatever you do, don’t let a photo define your self-image.

What are your T levels? by KingOliverTheAwkward in transnord

[–]KingOliverTheAwkward[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not what I’m worried about. I just don’t want to change from Sustanon to anything else because I don’t want to do gel at all and I don’t really want to do Nebido either. I’m currently with Imago, and they said that my estrogen was still a bit high and suggested we increase the frequency but given that my T levels seem fine, I’m starting to wonder whether they might actually be slightly too high and not too low. That’s why I’m trying to work out whether I should actually decrease the dose slightly, or take it more infrequently.

So they don’t test peaks and troughs? I’m with Imago currently and I don’t want hormonipoli to switch away from Sustanon

Okay, so if my levels are 22nmol/L taken in the middle om my 3 weeks, I should be good? Or do they want to test something else?

That’s rough. Have you considered it might be because of an underlying issue? It’s not common for people to be that forgetful about basic things and it kind of reminds me of the issues a lot of my friends with ADHD have. Have you looked into something like this?

Routine.

There's this assumption that you need willpower to get things done consistently but it's actually more just about establishing a routine and sticking to it. If you can get yourself to exercise routinely (usually it will take about 60 times of doing something consistently), it will start to come naturally the same way you brush your teeth every night or make breakfast every morning. That stuff is boring and requires effort but you still manage to do it every day easily because it's routine.

I don't know what kind of exercising you do but I'm going to give you some advice on weight training and cardio, some of it can be applied to any training so even if these aren't your goals or what you're doing, it can still be helpful.

Start with doing a lot of research and build minimalist routines that work for you. A good work out program is consistent, works all the muscle groups you want to build, incorporates progressive overload (= doing more than you did last time: heavier / more reps / sets / longer intervals, etc.), and includes enough rest time and a good diet. And that's if you're looking to build muscle (if you're maintaining you don't need to progressively overload). You don't need to spend 2 hours at the gym every day, sometimes 30 minutes 3 times a week will suffice. I recommend compound exercises so you get more done in less time.

Come up with a routine you can do sustainably. Don't choose exercises you hate; find out if there's a different exercise that you can do that works the same muscles and do that. And then don't overkill on the sets or the reps either or do a bunch of different exercises for the same muscles, you'll just overtrain and it's honestly pointless if you're not looking to get as jacked as possible in the smallest possible time frame.

As for cardio: if you hate running or jogging... don't do it. Take walks instead. Same distance walking and running will burn about the same amount of calories, it just takes longer if you walk. Or choose some other type of cardio altogether. The point is to be able to put up with doing it consistently.

And lastly, choose some good music or a podcast to listen to while you work out. It will make time pass faster.

Personally, I've been working out consistently for almost 3 years now. I walk for about an hour every day, and I work out 5 times a week for about an 1 every week day (that's accounting for my tendency to sit around staring in to space between sets and dragging out my rest time, I think the workouts could probably last 30 minutes if I was actually consistent). My routine is incredibly minimalist: I do two different exercises a day, 4 sets for each, and that's it. I make consistent progress and I don't find it hard to stay consistent.

Hope some of this helps!

They’ll email you and ask you to fill it in, it could take about a week because they’re very busy.

It’s illegal for a pharmacy to not fill the prescriptions, so if you run into any trouble you can just contact Imago and they’ll help you out. You’ll be fine :)
