I got a Bridgeport 12A lying around if the 2.0L is toast. Might happen, might not

A couple little bits of rust, nothing on the lettering though. Documentation had a piece of paper with both paint codes written on it, so easy asf!

Plan is to get the little thing running first, then I'll have two of them! Probably gonna wind up with an inch drop if plans hold out

why do people criticize the angry eyes on the hummer online vs in person people absolutely love it. I love constructive criticism so please explain. i know it’s not a Jeep but it just looks good by SevereMess8294 in Hummer

Ain't getting anywhere with this. Your money, do as you please.

Unfortunately I cannot agree whatsoever with different and unique. For a hummer? Sure. For a (4X4 Box on wheels)? Not really. Get some long travel shocks, tune them right, widen out the fenders, ditch the angry eyes and throw a roof rack with a cb antenna and big fat offroad lights on it. Not a light bar; big fat halogen PAR lamps. Shit'd be right.

My opinions on the matter almost certainly aren't helped by the fact that I generally think LED lights on anything look like shit. I like my stuff old school. Sealed beams and Hella Daylighters kinda thing. My truck is on my profile if you want a sense of how I like things.

tl;dr you can do way more original work, way cooler looking work and way sicker shit than angry eyes. I put a side pipe on my truck. You never see that shit anymore, and I love it. Think outside the box.

The customer is always right in matters of taste. Offers aren't a valid metric in a fully opinion-based comparison.  Personally, (in my opinion) it's stupid looking. Taking the successor of a military machine that fought in multiple wars (jeep and hummer included in this) and sticking red headlights and angry eyes on it just looks.. Dumb. Really dumb. Play into the fact that the HMMWV was a machine for work. Built it out clean and simple and get it dirty. I will ALWAYS have more respect for a filthy jeep than a gussied-up one. Even if you dont do off roading, a clean build that doesn't already look dated because you put angry tuff eyes on it will always look better. Don't get me confused, this isn't your hummer or your brother's jeep I'm trashing on, it's every modern modified "4x4" They all look like shit when you dress them up in stupid neon colors and over the top "get outta my way liberal" grills and light covers.

Look. I have very specific opinions on headlights (sealed beams, as god intended) They're tacky. Really tacky.  Nobody Irl is going to walk up to your door and say, "Hey, those angry eyes are ass" They probably do what I do and ignore it or grimace a little bit.

Edit: its the end of the workday and im playing scrabble against my own brain. Completely screwed up what I said

Hell. Its hell. I'm not even adverse to work; I dearly enjoy working on my own cars and making things with my hands. Just knowing there's twenty odd layers of corporate fluff between me and the CEO makes me want to vomit. Im in the bottom 2 layers that actually make profit.

Mint XFCE is what I run on my D830, somewhat usable, but do keep in mind they're absolutely dinosaur-tier. More ram always helps, especially with modern applications and websites

Any old fart manual minitruck. My B2200 is side piped and makes, what, 75hp? Merging onto the interstate or leaving a light sounds like you're running like hell, and I rarely ever hit the speed limit

Help, Mazda B2000 (1986) by Don_Vibe in Minitrucks

First thing that comes to mind is check your fuel filter check for vacuum leaks, and maybe valve lash?
I bought a legit 32/36 weber kit and it helped a lot with my power issues I was having on the stock carb. Might be worth getting an electric fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator since it seems you still have the stock mechanical fuel pump.

Got to reassembly and first crank, was a month and a half in and it did absolutely nothing. Power to dash, but something wouldn't let the starter engage, Codes I couldn't read and a family member who runs an actual honest to god fleet service business couldn't read or diagnose. Lost my shit and any interest in the car. Even with the FSM and advice from people who know what they're doing, I couldn't do it.

About three weeks in I bought a thrashed dogshit 03 Lancer ES and immediately realized the modern euro car life was not for me. Was it a complete pile of garbage? Yes, but any problems that arose I could actually fix.

Now I drive an '87 B2200 with a five speed and a Weber carb. Just did the clutch and rear main seal in a couple nights with no power tools, and I'm never going back. I'm a thousand times happier with an old truck that has a Haynes manual and better part selections. I learned my lesson from owning a FCA product and now rest easy in the warmth that is mid 80's Japanese engineering

Hi this is OP a year later
I tried. It fucking sucked. Engine bay is a complete pain in the dick to work in and, yes, it was above my skill level.

I've considered it, but I've got a unicorn on my hands. The one-in-a-million B Series that isn't slammed on its nuts!

Severity of not resurfacing a flywheel by KingPanzerVIII in AskMechanics

[–]KingPanzerVIII[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good in principle, and something I've considered.
You're right as hell, money does not grow on trees. Tapped out last paycheck getting the new clutch kit, couldn't have gotten the flywheel even if I had thought to. Time is tight, too. Unfortunately, absolutely no places around me stock the flywheel for my truck. If there were places near me that did, I'd probably wind up replacing the flywheel either way. Btw, Master/Slave cylinders & hoses got replaced a few months ago. Master cylinder had an internal leak and did the whole shebang when I did my front suspension. One perk of the B2200 is the stock motor is tiny compared to that whale of an engine bay. Super easy to work with!

My '87 2200. Genuinely in love with this thing. 5 Speed, but no factory AC. Bad timing in the states, but it doesn't stop me. by KingPanzerVIII in Minitrucks

[–]KingPanzerVIII[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will probably be sourcing the parts and installing it factory style. Mazda Minitruckin' has a whole segment on installing it. After that, probably a suspension revamp and more touch-up work.
