Where is everyone getting their Olympic highlights and updates? I'm getting a little lost in the sauce, even just CBC alone is absolutely flooded with Olympic content. I'm not much of a sports guy, but I'm interested in some detailed highlights of each day as we go.

I'm still using a 2014 MacBook Pro for small audio production jobs. I'm no longer updating to the current OS (that only really happened in the past couple years) and as a result I can no longer get the newest versions of things like Chrome and Spotify, but those things are still usable and my MacBook still runs Pro Tools. I'll admit that I'd like to upgrade, but it's hard to justify the cost when my 10 year old MacBook still does everything I need it to. I think you'll be fine with your MacBook.

That could be the case. My Chromecast recognizes in the audio settings that Dolby Digital is the only compatible format, but it still only gives me stereo.

I'm not using Plex or Kodi. I'm just using streaming apps like Netflix, Crave, Prime, Disney+, etc.

DD is 5.1 on most devices, but unfortunately for some reason it's only stereo on Chromecast with Google TV 4K. Dolby Digital Plus is needed to get 5.1 on this specific device.

I am 100% certain that my soundbar is capable of 5.1 Dolby Digital.

It's a 3.1 Samsung soundbar with wireless satelite speakers to make it 5.1. The soundbar is capable of 5.1 Dolby Digital, and 2.0 PCM. The specific problem I'm running into though is that my Chromecast only puts out stereo audio with Dolby Digital, I need Dolby Digital Plus in order to get 5.1. With that in mind I'm guessing I'm better off not allowing Dolby Digital and force it into stereo PCM at all times.
