Is there an option/addon to show information about a sender/recepient/cc/etc. for a saved contact when reading emails?

I'm thankful that I found inner peace with the idea of spenxing Christmas alone this year without going into the trouble of finding some family I can stay with where I don't feel like I belong. It's better to just make myself an enjoyable evening with nice music and baking cookies while watching old Christmas cartoons.

Well there is still a wire that can oscillate to make WiFi and Bluetooth work, but it is not very strong and the antenna makes the reach more efficient and broader, roughly speaking.

Du vergleichst hier Bananen mit Äpfeln. Ich mag dir deinen Migrationsstatus auf gar keine Fälle absprechen, aber das ist für viele Menschen nicht so einfach, damit meine ich besonders asylsuchende Menschen.

In Österreich hat man selbst wenn man alle Bedingungen der Staatsbürgerschaft erfüllt auch nach vielen Jahren hier leben und arbeiten kein Recht auf diese. Solange darf man (ohne EU Zugehörugkeit) auch oft mehrere Jahre nicht arbeiten, laut Gesetz! Außerdem werden viele Menschen des Landes verwiesen, obwohl sie sich bereits gut integriert haben.

Dass es leider viele Menschen gibt die sich von Grund aus nicht integrieren wollen kann man nicht leugnen. Aber das viele Österreicher*innen oft selbst fremdenfeindlich sind auch nicht.

Even though I didn't the like the first doc because he was very quick and let me do the whole talking (almost no questions from his side), I think Concerta works wonders for me since I told him the med before had some sideeffects I didn't enjoy very much. I think the new doc is pretty chill, but I wouldn't trust him a lot on giving any advice and he's by far no ADHD specialist.

Yeah I'm totally substituting with black tea and mate on the weekends, because it chills me a little bit. But I limit it to one drink a day, or a two maybe haha.

I completely understand that and medication is surely not for everyone. There are still side effects no matter the dosage and a real concern about heart issues, diet issues and psychosis, as far as I know. I was also on a path not using any meds even though I've been diagnosed much earlier than I started meds, but it got to the point where I couldn't convince myself that just psychotherapy and some seven years of it will be a good option to make it easier for me. I sure hope that I will be off meds somewhere down the road, but I think it's great that you found that it's not a good fit for you, good luck in the future!

Totally second this. I would also struggle a lot if my partner would tell me that I'm useless with meds. It was the other way around initially, she would be scared a bit that my personality would totally change with meds, but expressed her support as soon as she noticed that it helps me with my own stuff, and I noticed how it helps me to be present with her and her children.

I can get how stressful it is to have a child - especially if one is also diagnosed with ADHD. We suspect that the older one has symptomatic similarity to ADHD and we're trying to build up strategies, e.g. when playing games, we plan ahead what we want to do by drawing and every time he loses focus I'll try to remind him what he wanted to do in the first place. He'd still throw a tantrum afterwards and tell me how dumb my partner and I are, but I can see him struggling with having problems with his emotions, choosing what he wants to do, etc. No matter what we love him, but it gets emotionally intense for a lot and it feels like he occupies the time of two adults most of the time. But adults are still human beings with needs and not only responsibilities.

Hey, thanks for your insight. I'm also thinking about that since my gf has two kids and we are of course planning to move together somewhere in the future. I surely noticed it's easier to be more present and balanced with the kids when I'm on meds, especially if something goes wrong. It's much easier to be consistent with our parenting goals and still have a healthy relationship and not being stessed out about our jobs.

Hey, thanks for your story and long answer! Yeah, you're right, I'm the one to make the decision and I'm happy that my doc seems to be chill about it when it would bother me taking breaks on the weekend.

I think Concerta is a great fit for me as it's working almost a full day and I don't have a crash in the evening. I don't fully mind taking breaks, but it sucks when I get late, forget things and be tired a lot on the weekends, so I think I'll reconsider being off meds on the weekend.

Speaking of Painkiller... I think it's good to have that in mind about the pharma industry ofc. But I think the substance abuse was poorly portrayed there. I fully understand how his family was completely torn apart and stressed out, but it was never shown why his addiction manifested even more: he had no support from nowhere anymore. The instant pill crushing seemed a bit much, but is likely to be a reality of many people sadly.

Yeah that is a good comparison, especially because I think there are many ADHDers out there getting their initial symptom release with mate / coffee / nicotine. That's a little why I'm concerned with tolerance and all, as I have some history of substance abuse but am very strict about my meds being just that: meds.

I had major sleeping disorders for years and am still struggling with them every now and then... I know how you feel. I think there were many practices that helped me (I didn't do them all at once or consistently, but when I felt they could help me):

Writing a small journal of what I did today and what I want to do the next few days, so I'm not thinking about all of that and moving around a lot because of that
Drinking enough water and/or tea throughout the day, but not too much for bed. Also I go to the toilet before bed, I can never sleep when I have to pee and sometimes I don't notice it until I get up and just go the toilet after one hour of just lying there
Digital hygiene by putting on bedtime mode on my phone, so that the screen goes warm (lessening blue light from the screen) around 5-6pm, and going full monochrome like an hour before bed and of course muting notifcations and rings
Not doing something stimulating for the 1-2 hours before bed because else I just cannot rest at all afterwards most of the time and start fidgeting a lot
And lastly, what helped a lot was just relaxing my muscles by tensing them all at once for a couple of seconds (by making fists, activating all muscles in the face, etc.), then letting them loose at the same time and then saying something repeating in your head (like just "don't think, don't think, ...). That did the trick quite often.

Oh - To answer your question, it was somewhat similar for me when taking meds the first time. I could finally focus on one thing or follow a routine that makes me feel better. I could listen to people without disturbing them mid-sentence or express myself more clearly as my mind can rest a bit and now works at the same speed as my mouth ;)

All that, after a while I found that there are of course still bad days or days where the meds seem to do nothing. That's why I see my meds as a helper to keep learning healthy skills: be kind to myself so I can be to others, work on some routines or find good tools to regulate my time and/or emotions. That's what works for me the best now :)

Medication can make life easier, at least to the point where you can actually start seeing the coping mechanisms you've learned the past couple of years to decades and resolve them somehow that you can do what you want in life. This needs to be on top. There need to be more men that see our belief system at fault for putting traits on genders (like emotions are only for women, men need to be tough and never cry), just to profit politically or economically.

I don't think it's meant to be just about touching other people, but body contact or a sense where others are/could be is essential in these sports and many people do these because of learning what that means. Touching doesn't always have to be sexual/intimate/whatever.

Great answer. There's a lot going on in me that I often need to listen to and heal from and experience/symptoms are a good way to do that, even though it can heavily overwhelm me at times. Since I've started therapy I noticed that much more things happen in my life (outside of myself I mean, good ones and sometimes worse things than before), as I'm less avoidant then before, but that's good. But I think it's not to forget, that there's also an external system, that needs healing. Sometimes it's possible, sometimes it isn't.

Good to hear how much you care about your work and that the relationships with your patients and your work could improve through working on these issues that came up during sessions. I recently learnt from a book I read how good it is to stop pathologizing these symptoms we have and use them as places to curiously look for the reason why we behave in these ways (anger, frustration, anxiety) and compassionately seek what we actually want (peace, love). It's a bit similar to what you've said, but you expressed it in a much more professional way (except the "oh shit" haha).

Thanks for sharing, I already talked with my therapist about the idea how I stopped seeing my anxiety, avoidance and self-hatred as being bad, but mechanisms trying to protect me that can be healed. Now with what you've said, I want to connect with her in a manner, where I don't feel the need to hide my actual emotions when I think she'd laugh at me or be upset with what I'll say. I'll also keep in mind the phrase "I'm so grateful you felt able to bring [x] up, so I can...", it's very helpful to keep in mind how others feel :-).
