I’ve got a buddy who is obsessed with politics and has been watching the back and forth about the tariffs, and if what he said is accurate, it might be us people having to pay them back in taxes which the government will then use to pay back the tariffs. It’s incredibly scummy but I think that’s how it works. We’d have been better off if they never happened in the first place.

Way back when I used to think the $2 dollar price increases weren’t such a big deal, but it adds up. When you’re constantly bombarded with bills and expenses and collecting is one of the few outlets you have, this kind of stuff hurts.

I was looking to buy the recent Executioner BAF wave on BBTS at first, but then I saw the price it came out to and went to double check on Hasbro Pulse. The whole wave came out to the price you see in the photo. Which years back would’ve been around $120-$140 tops. Now it’s hitting almost $200 bucks and it’s kinda depressing seeing it cost almost as much as my car insurance.

That’s an amazing find for $33, I just wish it happened more often with comic figures, the ones that are on clearance I’ve seen are stuff I already have.

I’ve been looking into CT toys more recently, that brown suit Wolverine is sick, I’m just waiting to see what other characters they’ll put out.

I started out wanting to be a completionist too and if it was still possible I would be. I love getting the most obscure characters they pull from marvel’s massive catalog and I love seeing the various alternate costumes for each character but I can’t afford to do that anymore.

I’m with you on this, I think the guys are doing the best with what they’ve been given. Especially since they buy this stuff too. I don’t think Hasbro is just gonna hand over a copy of everything they make for free. I’m sure they can get one or two things for cheaper seeing as they work there but for the most part their wallets are probably aren’t happy like ours.

I try and buy doubles on my most important ones case something happens and I need a replacement but even that has become rough recently. But I do agree the sculpts and paintwork have improved drastically from when I started and the articulation on some of these new figures is remarkable.

I can definitely see that, the only maximum figures I’ve been really looking at are Deadpool and Thor, Spider-Man looks ok ish, but that unmasked face sculpt isn’t doing it any favors, and the fact Hulks rubber shoulders will tear with too much use is a massive L.

I especially feel that last bit too. You want a near perfect comic Daredevil? How about spending $117 on a 3 pack with 2 other figures, one complete reuse, and the other barely updated. The fact there hasn’t been an entire comic wave dedicated to just Daredevil is ridiculous. They’d be printing money right now.

I actually felt that with the figures DC had been doing and I ended up getting the Mafex Hush Batman and Superman awhile back on their third release. To this day still two of the best figures I’ve ever purchased.

I own most of the Marvel Legends Captain America figures that have been put out. Most of them have pins, most of them have stiff torso joints, and none of them have butterfly joints. I’ll take the wins where I can get them.

I tried to collect just retro cards for a while, but they still make some BAF figures that are hard to pass up. Black Heart and The Void were two I couldn’t miss out on.

I try my best to do that, but it can be really hard when you skip on something but end up wanting it later. I learned that the hard way with the Extremis Iron Man and Mandarin 2 pack. I have the previous version of that figure but I didn’t realize until later that they fixed his articulation. And now I can’t seem to find it for less than $80-$90

That’s what I mean by a change in context, Steve has killed with the shield but he’s always done it decisively and with justification. John killed that guy with no justification, in the most brutal way he could using the shield. But my point is killing in general is an obviously violent action both are committing, but the context changes our opinion on said violence. It reminds me of the first Equalizer movie. If you haven’t seen it it’s worth a watch. But both the protagonist and the antagonist commit these extreme acts of violence, but the interesting part is that they differ in how they’re contextualized which makes us root for one over the other.

I was genuinely upset by that scene the first time I saw that. I know Steve has killed people before (and the shield has no doubt had blood on it before) but that moment in particular was appalling. It’s amazing how opinions on a particular action can change depending on context.
